we used to have 2 pet goats…we named them Bakree and Bakraa…uff!!! so cute!!! so cute!!!..and one morning, i was home alone…and i heard the goats “baaing” outside…so i went out to chek on them…and…i saw…THESE TWO DOGS!!! …they were attacking the bakraas!!! …omg u all think i’m making this all up…but kasme, i’m not!!..so anyways, it was my neighbor’s dogs…and ya’ll dont kno how scared i am of dogs…but wen i saw that they were attacking the goats…i got a spark in me…and i started screaming and running at them dogs…hah i was crying and just stampeding rite to them!!!..yea so wen i finally got there, i thought the dogs would shoo away…but they just stood there…and i saw all this blood everywhere…and the goats were like breathing real hard…:(…they were really scared …scareder than me …so then i went and picked up my brothers cricket bat and i chased the dogs out of our yard…and i called my mom and she came home in about 15 minutes…we took the goats to the animal shelter, and the doctors tried the best they could…so they were back at home later that day…all bruised up and bandaged and erything…the next morning, Bakraa had died…:(…Bakri survived…and she’s still alive today…that pic up there is of the bakri…i’m not putting one up of the bakra …it makes me sick to my stomach just looking at it…
so yea…that’s why i dont eat goat meat…not because i’m some stupid anorexic bachi or summin…ery time i see goat meat, i think of how i’m devouring a cute and innocent little bakra…
Rest In Peace Bakra*
P.S. point of this thread : for people to realize what cruelty they bring amongst these adorable little animals by eating them :yukh:
Halal goat meat wasn’t easily available in the UK, so the last time I ate goat was back in 1997. We visitied a farm one of my distant uncles owned and the farmers zabihafied a goat for us in front of me.
Given how much it struggled and how loudly it bleated, it must be been one healthy goat. It took four men to restrain the goat, one by each leg, while one man took a really sharp knife and severed the blood vessels in its neck. Again, it was a really healthy goat so for a good couple of seconds the blood was spurting powerfully out of its neck like a fountain while it wheezed and finally died.
Then they cooked it, and I got to each the kidney. Man they were tasty .. such soft, succulent, and FRESH kidneys.
Mmmmmmmm…
Hey Pink Pantha, can I buy that bakri? I promise to give it a good new home - in my tummy!!!
Cut meat in pieces, fry lightly in fat, add curry powder and simmer in Water to cover with seasonings until meat is nearly tender (1 1/2 hours). Dice carrots and add. Continue cooking until meat and carrots are tender.
