Like everyone else I was looking for shortcuts for losing weight and I did end up losing around 22lbs within 6 months of my crash diet but after that I stopped losing weight and it’s been 6 months since then that I haven’t lost an inch or an lb, instead I started to put on weight again. I tried shock system diet too but I gained 2lbs back.
So last month I gave up my routine of staying hungry and then skipping the work out because of not having enough energy left. In my new routine, I take breakfast every morning (usually cereals) then around 10 a fruit as a snack, light lunch and fruit, afternoon tea and one slice of cake and then finally a meal before 7 in the evening and fruit if I feel hungry. I don’t let myself get too hungry coz that makes you eat more than usual. I jog every morning for 20 minutes and increasing 5 minutes every week, do a 20 minutes fat burning and muscle toning work out before 3 in the afternoon and then pilates before dinner or after 2 hours of taking dinner for 20 minutes.
I haven’t lost any weight yet but have stopped gaining weight even after sometimes eating chips and fried chicken I’m not putting on any weight. And most of all I’m not cranky like I used to be when on crash diets. I have learned to accept the fact that I don’t need to look like a super model, I just need to look healthy.
I’ve been ill for the past 2 weeks and haven’t really followed the routine but I’m feeling better today and looking forward to start the routine again. I just wanted to share my experience with crash dieting and I highly discourage it from now on.
it takes a while to realize staying hungry is not the right thing to do (counterproductive long term), but when you do it this time, make sure you eat right, and healthy... focus more on exercising than cutting back your meals. The path will be slower, but more rewarding and long lasting! Also, don't lose heart if the results are slower this time around. They will be more rewarding iA
Can someone please say all of this in another thread too lol.
This goes to show that you have to change your lifestyle to something that you can keep up with and like you said crash diets cannot be maintained. On top of that your body will not get the nutrients it needs to function appropriately.

You know it takes someone to try out a crash diet atleast once, and to fail to realize that it doesnt work. That's what most experienced athletic trainers say. It's after they go through all that, and they realize how they have been doing it all wrong. Slow and steady wins the race :) Also, if someone's working out regularly, they do need a significant calorie intake, and a crash diet will only make them feel burnt out and would lead to weakness (and sickness). Those who eat healthy and avoid crash diets also experience less DOMs after initiating intensive workouts.
