IM on a strict diet for my wedding, im also going to aerobics classes, i have lost a lot of weight in the first 2 and half weeks, but now in 3rd week, my weight has stalled and i weigh the same as i did 6 days back…normally i would not be worried, however as im off next month to get married its adding to my stress, i know weight does stall sometimes, but it shpuldnt on the diet im on, and its only been 3 weeks…weight normally stalls after a month or 2 atleast…
any advice?
THANKS
just remembered, i did have abit too much chicken with my salad the other day due to a party, so all i had for dinner was chiken and salad, but i had wayy to much chicken more than normal, i think twice or nearly three times as much chicken as i normally have, also the chicke is grilled ( chicken tikka) but it did contain ( i think) bit of oil on dressing, also the next day then i had a massive bowl of chick pea salad with lots of sauce ( the imli sauce that has bit of sugar on) , this was dinner only…my breakfast and lunch were my normal healthy diet regime ones…
hi...maintaining a diet/food diary is really an UNBEATABLE way to see if ure eating sneaky snacks that are piling on the pounds...sugar is an EVIL...i just quit all SUGARY things cold turkey - dont even eat mangoes!!! - and then would limit myself to just 2 squares of cholcolate a week (my weakness!!!))) ..
it is normal to hit a weight plateau, but it is usually after a couple of months - depends on how much weight u loss to begin with??
u have to increase the duration or intensity of ur work out...or add mild weight lifting as that gives u a leaner look...
what else can i do? maybe the chicken tikka contaisn oil as a dressing.....and yeh the imli sauce has abt f sugar....but still i was still eating alot less i still shudve lost atleast a pound...however my scales are always showing up as a diff weight...it works cos i put a 5kg baf of rice on it and it showed up as 5kg, but when i got on it..it either shows 2 pounds more, then i get on it again and its a pound less, keeps changing....
i am drinking 2litres water, i only went gym 3 weeks back..isnt it too early to start changing routine...and i only went once a week for about 2 weeks, then i went 2 times and last week i went 3 times..
Nadz...you are right. Its too early for you to change your routine given the fact that it has only been 3 weeks since you started.
According to your statement above....you are not nearly working out as much as you should for a person that is trying to lose weight. I would increase the days you work out to 4-5 times a week. Be sure to include both cardio and strength training in your routine. There is no harm in doing cardio everyday ..7 days a week if you wish.
Also weight fluctuates from day to day depending on what you ate, when you ate, and how much you ate. Try to be consistent in the amount of food you eat. When you weigh yourself do it in the mornings. This way your weight will be more accurate.
Keep in mind weight is just a number. It may be muscle weight and not necessarily fat that gives you that number...which is a good thing.
Besides it's the way you feel and look in your clothes that counts. So dont pay too much attention to the scale.
Avoid heavy or processed food.
Eat vegetables in every meal and lean meat or fish.
Drink water constantly throughout the day.
Work out everyday for atleast half an hour.
I worked out for three hours a day to lose weight. An hour in the morning and two hours in the evening (it was a killer and I really dunno how the hell I did it!)
Sleep is vital, get atleast 8hours a night.
Have a routine it helps :)
Give yourself a target and only weigh yourself every 2weeks or at the end of the month it'll be more of a motivation because you'll have lost quite a bit.
Good luck chick! <3

Whoa.....how long did you keep that routine for and how much weight did you lose?
ok so shall i do aerobics 5 times a week, and toning twice a week? How can i vary my exc...ive only jsut begin so im sure my body cant be used to it as such....?
A size 12 is fine - how tall are you?
Maybe you should aim to be a REALISTIC toned size 12, if you push yourself for the wedding, the weight is only going to come back on really fast afterwards.
i dont care if it jumps back on afterwards, and it wont cos in pakistan its very hot, you lose weight anyway.....so id prefer to lose a size in 1 month,,,no matter how hard it is....
Sorry to be harsh, but realistically I don't think you'll lose a dress size in 4 weeks, hope you do manage it - if you do, let me know what you did as I am currently trying to lose weight as well.
Try and go to the gym 4-5 times a week and mix those following classes in.
Are you also doing the basics, walk instead of car. Stairs instead of lift. Get of the bus/tube a stop before an walk etc.
great advice.
at my gym they also offer a class called "boot camp conditioning"....this class will quickly whip you into shape.
Nadz...aliyah is right when she says that it's not realistic to drop a dress size in one month. However through weight training you can sculpt your body in such a way that you will be still be a 12 but will appear thinner.
typically you see results in 6 weeks time if you are consistent.
AugustSunshine I go to Top Notch, it's near where I work.
They have a brilliant timetable of classes as well as a lot of cardio/weight equipment.
I used to go and just do treadmill and rowing machine - wasn't making a massive difference.
Now, I do those classes and mix in yoga and abs classes and it seems to be helping!
It's hard work!!!
Angel is right, you'll look better as a toned size 12, flat stomach, flat back, no bingo wings than a flabby size 10. And also, if you're tall you will be able to carry the 12 off and still look amazing.
