okay i was wearing this wolf mask and it was scary
so the kids came and
i opened the door
and one of the kid started crying like hell
the other
got scared and tried runnig
he tripped and fell down i felt sooooooo

its not that i think I am just having a hard time explaining..
i just find it strange that parents would take their kids to the homs of ppl they dont even know or even in different areas for trick or treating.
i just dont get the logic, dressing up is fine, trick or treatign is fine, but shouldnt it be limited to friends and neighbours, it seems odd to me that ppl from the next zipcode as in front of my house.
i also think there are potential safety issues, we had 2 kids 10-11 years old on their own, not from our neighbourhood.. do teh parents know where the kids are, or whose house they are at..or in?
and can u be 100% sure about what strangers are giving your kids?
and all for what? crappy cheap candy?

Holloween with friends is only fine. I am an overprotective mom,I don't trust anyone and I don't let them out of my sight.
X2 the only point is you are concern and other parents don't think this way, because its been ages holloween is going the same way and people are doing it, so they don't find it wierd or harmful.Its part of american culture.

I think people that are worried about strangers poisoning the candy are just paranoid. Why would anyone do that? The only thing I'd be worried about is kids getting kidnapped or harassed or something if they're trick-or-treating with no adults.
Anyways, I like Halloween. I like candy. :>

lol…to me the use of “trick or treat” is more of a drama
it seems like bucha’s are massi and they are like “baji kaam karana hai to jaldi say batao werna may aglay gher jaoon :D”

what? in comparison to what? the candy being poisoned? did you even read my post? i said kids getting kidnapped is what one SHOULD worry about.
anyways, most of the candy is in wrappers anyways...anything that's not shouldn't be eaten (not just halloween candy)

it is so refreshing for a Father to be concerned like this for his children's safety.
yet Fraudia bhai, the issue is that of the social and communal method of interacting.
this is not a holiday which we originally can relate to, however, since we happen to be here where halloween is celebrated. remaining isolated is not the best thing to do.
i totally agree with the idea of strangers being knocked at for candies for kids.
and costuming for strangers to guess who one's child is dressed up like.
the balance might be in fortifying one's neighborhood familiarity with people who live next to oneself and then hopefully the element of stranger hood will feel minimal.

its stupid really, I mean i think its fun for party ppl to dress up and go to halloween parties. and for kids to dress up for fun, the whole candy business is a lil strange.
u have ppl taking their kids to strangers homes to get candy, or some kids just out on their own.
are people really comfortable with their kids taking candies from strangers? yeah yeah yeah so they say they inspect the candy..as if it is going to stop some sicko from injecting crap in it if he really wanted.
now, the second question is about the parents, i think going to the houses of ppl u know is fine, but just cuz i am a block down from u dunn mean u can just show up, only to be seen next halloween.

714 as my halloween pics as batman, paul stanley (kiss lead singer), and scorpion (mortal kombat) would indicate, I have a blast on halloween, i dig halloween. I liked it even more in college because chica got hooched up for the parties :)
teh haunted house, pumpkin carving, this and that is all fine. I just dont understand goign to complete strangers homes and asking for candy..its odd, very odd.
