Why for a muslim in the present age... ?

Re: Why for a muslim in the present age… ?

There is no Islam without Sunnah.

Even Faraaidh were, in a sense, Sunnah because Prophet:saw2: performed them regularly.

Take an example of Sunnah and Nafil salaah. People say that if we leave them, there is no Sin. True!!! 100%

But we also know that Sunnah and NawaafiL will make up for our incomplete or left out faraaidh on the day of judgement. Now if someone is DAMN sure that he/she is well off with his faraaidh and has SUPER DUPPER imaan that all his/her faraaidh bear a 100% fruit to him/her, they are quite welcome to leave sunnah.. No sin whatsoever…

I, for one, will rather stick to sunnah as well.

Re: Why for a muslim in the present age... ?

Well said brother. In addition, if not obeying sunnah displeases Allah (swt) and the Prophet (saw), then isn't that not enough of a reason to obey it ? I have seen muslims making a lot of additional efforts in their job, not because their boss ordered them to do so, but only because their boss "MIGHT" become MORE happy with their "extra" efforts. But we muslims rarely apply such efforts for the Ultimate boss (LORD) even in the things he ORDERED us to do ?!

Yesterday the Imaam's words shocked me. He gave referrance of a hadith that offering two rakah "tahajjud" at night is more high and valuable than this whole world and everything present in it. That is why at mid night Allah (swt) decends from the 7th sky to the first one and announces Is there anyone who wants to talk to me, and ask for anything. In Jannah among the people with most of the Hoors are those who offer tahajjud.

Now how many of us would get up for praying if it is announced that by offering two rakah tahajjud (lasting 5-10 minutes) 500 dollars would be put in your pocket !?!

May Allah :subhanahu: give us Taufeeq to follow the above Hadeeth Insha Allah… Aameen Summa Aameen.

A man from Khalid ibn-e-Asid’s family asked Abdullah ibn-e-Umar:razi:, "Abu Abdu’r-Rahman! We find the Fear Prayer and the prayer at home in the Qur’an, but we do not find the travelling prayer." Ibn Umar:razi: said, “My nephew, Allah sent Muhammad:saw2: to us when we did not know anything. We do as we saw him doing.”

Umar bin Abdul Aziz:rahm: said, “The Messenger of Allah :saw2: made a Sunnah and the people in command after him made sunnas. To adopt them is to confirm the Book of Allah and to act on them is to obey Allah and strengthen the deen of Allah. It is not for anyone to change the Sunna or alter it or to look into the opinion of those who oppose it. Whoever follows it is guided. Whoever seeks help by it will have victory. Whoever opposes it and follows other than the path of the believers, Allah will entrust him to what he turns to and will roast him in Jahannam, which is a bad ending.”
