How does anyone know for sure they are even 'religious people' by any stretch of imagination?
If they were 'religious' by any means, they would not be letting so many 'non-religious' people and 'places of non-religious activites' safe in their first oppurtunity.
Blasting a bomb at people praying for Jumma by 'religious people'? Yeah right!
People need to use common sense.

Here is the real reason why they do it.
They kill people in places of worship because such places have all their hateful enemies gathered in one place. Killing people in bazar does not guarantee killing of people belonging to any particular group.

Civilians are nothing but sitting ducks.
Easy to get in and out.
Get maximum damage in one attempt.
Aftermath is always horrific that draws emotions
Gets attention of the entire nation
Main aim is to ....Get rid ....deliver a message to people .... revenge against those people...who do not follow your kind of religion.....
Alienation from whom???
If wahabis attack any sufi shrine, they do not get alienated among wahabis or wahabi backed countries....
Wahabis do not believe in this kind of islam....so they dont mind getting rid or sending a message to sufi muslims...
or Sunnis dont mind sending this message to Qadianis....
These organizations exist and function, as these are funded by powerful religious tanzeems/ governments.
Fidayeen killings of hindu devotees in raghunath temple or akshardham temple is an act of revenge and send a message to kaffirs..."we can kill you in your own religious places"
But how do you view when extremists attacked Mecca.I believe Mecca is a holy shrine for all Muslim sects.
