Why don't we just clean up the Urdu language and get rid of a few alphabets?

First thing, get rid of “Q”. Maybe 1% of Pakistanis can say it right. Why even bother with that sound? Just replace it with a K and be done with it.

Then, we can get rid of Say, Zuad, Tuay, Zuay, 3, Bari Yay and Humza. Majority cannot differentiate between the sounds of Zuad and Zal, and Tuay and Tay. Chota Yay and Bari Yay are also the same sounds, just written differently. Humza is just useless, we don’t have sudden stops in our language. 3 is useless in urdu, every word it is used in, it can be replaced with an alif.

I would say even get rid of noon ghunna, we don’t make sounds from our nose.

I am sure the argument against this will be that these sounds come from Arabic, and Pakistanis are supposed to love Arabic.

TDW, I agree with you.

well choti yay and barri yay are not the same, in the word choti we use choti yay and in chotay we use barri yay

and if there is no noon ghunna then how can we say ziyadah baan baaan mat karo. :)

I agree with you actually, mostly.

These are quite same and hardly any difference.

Why cant we write to’ta with tey ? does it make any difference in sound with Toeyn ? no

Similarly any person who has not seen few words written cant guess its spelling

Do you know how Asteefa is written in urdu ? :rotato:

It is

Alif
Seen
tey
Fey
choti ye
khara zabar
