Why don't we have a charismatic leader from Muslim world?

Someone like Obama.

I am talking about a modern day leader who can inspire us; someone with charm, eloquence, intelligence, and a wholesome personality. A leader we’re proud to look up to and who can trigger awe even in their enemies.

Why is Muslim world full of self-serving leaders who almost always have a murky, shady past?

Or do you guys think, my outburst is simply a result of buying too much into the media hype surrounding Obama? :hmmm:

Re: Why don't we have a charismatic leader from Muslim world?

Is "charismatic" the only requirement? Or do you need more like honest, sincere, bold etc.?

Re: Why don't we have a charismatic leader from Muslim world?

I think I'd settle for JUST honesty and sincerity too, but do we even have that in our leaders?

Although charisma does galvanize more support and can be very disarming.

Re: Why don't we have a charismatic leader from Muslim world?

we have one "mahateer al muhamad"
I wonder how he is not dead or humiliated. I want to read hi autobiography to see how did he put up with power full evil nations.

Re: Why don't we have a charismatic leader from Muslim world?

Jinnah, Man of his words.
under his leadership, muslims able to form a separate homeland for themselves.

and remind you his only weapon was his words (and no sword, or gun), i doubt obama can beat Jinnah, and his rationality.

ps2. u asked for current, otherwise beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH is the best example one can come up with.
ps. Muslims are lead by the current leader cuz of their own actions.

Re: Why don't we have a charismatic leader from Muslim world?

So why doesn't Mahatir Mohammas have a huge following in the rest of the Muslim world? (Sorry I don't know much about him)

zobia Mr
Jinnah died in 1948.

I knew someone would bring up Jinnah. Jinnah was from the last century. I am talking about recent years. Someone with the perfect blend of religiousness and worldliness.

Parvez Musharaf thy tu:chai:

I think I devoted a major part of my post emphasizing on “personality” as well!

Phir tu bas main ya tum reh jaty hain;)

Pakistan is also from the last century. in fact no new country appeared on the map in the last 9 years.

ps. as i said we dont deserve one so why demand which u r not yourself.

:lifey:
and its going to be there till many many more centuries.

In all honesty, that just leaves me!

sigh so now I gotta shoulder another huge reponsibility. :crying:

pakistan is relatively a new country, with only 62 years been passed.

besides we are not that lucky one to be awarded Jinnah after Jinnah in every era. we have to go lill back in the history and get the inspiration.

abb obama k leya Abraham linkin qabar say uth ker to nahi ageya tha :P

Re: Why don't we have a charismatic leader from Muslim world?

Lets talk about Pakistan only:

1) Jinnah
2) Liaqat Ali Khan
3) Zulfikar Ali Bhutto

So this is what we're going to believe in to console ourselves?

What are leaders there for? Aren't they supposed to be a cut above the rest of us, the best of the best, so the common man finds inspiration in them?

Re: Why don't we have a charismatic leader from Muslim world?

Their was some leaders who actually change the destiny of Pakistan in less then 62 years for quiet of couple of times:

1) Jinnah Make the Pakistan
2) Bhutto Saved it
3) General Zia totally redraw & redesign the ideological basics of society
4) General Musharraf redraw & redesign total opposite of Zia

:jhanda:General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq:salute:

Ok sure, lets talk about Pakistan then. Any inspirational leader who's...err...alive, for starters?
