No they didn’t.

I learnt it at primary school in the 90s. We used to have hand writing practice using those Berol handwriting pens and the specially lined paper and then we were given a special fountain pen in year 6.

I’m sure my cousins also learnt it at their primary school a few years ago.

perhaps I was mistaken. So when did they actually stop teaching it?
