Because it is part of their religion hence they also wear the paggar.

i have a friend whose sikh....when i asked him this question he said that its his identity, thats what hes been known as. When i told him that u can be known by doing good deeds as well then he answered that however God sent us down , we have to return to him as is....(meaning no cutting hairs of head, beard and other hairs on the body)....

thats just the answer he gave me and i wrote it down here.... plez dont ask me any questions about what ive wrote...lol..

i remember learing about the sikh religion in school and if i remember correctly, the reason they don't cut their hair is because it is something that is given by god, and continues to grow...

itsme - there's really sikh schools in thailand?!

There's a religious aspect to it. There are 5 Sikh symbols introduced by their Guru, Guru Gobind Singhji-- Kesh (hair that they dun cut), Kanga (comb), Kara (Bracelet), Kaccha (a kind of shorts) and Kirpan (sword). A true Sikh will abide by these symbols all his life.

If i am correct (remember reading in Sikh Books): that it was the 10th Guru who introduced all the laws that effect Sikhs now, and it was him who said that no more Gurus after me.

And the 10th Guru was Guru Gobind Singhji. The holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib is considered as the 11th Guru.

so the holy book is actually a Guru? thats weird cuz they never said taught us that...

Sikhism was founded by Guru Nanakji, him being the first Guru...the next 9 Guru's enlightened the people, spread the word. Guru Gobind Singhji, the last living Guru, compiled all the teachings in a single Holy Book, and that from then on presides as the 11th Guru.
