Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

You can lead the way to apologizing. Hoorah for you. We're right behind you.

Quick everybody let's go back to my place and we'll watch some football

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

It's called sarcasm genius. Sorry if it wasn't more obvious for u and brother psych over here... the point you seem to have missed, is that the suspicion is always on the outsider. We never hold ourseves to such standards because why would we suspect ourselves? It's an aspect of xenophobia.

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

Again... it's called sarcasm.

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

Peace Med911

It's okay you can lead the way in making the host people free of suspicion. The rest of us on the other hand have things to do - like eat and sleep and go to work. I mean what is the worst that could happen? Sorry 'you' were being sarcastic? Well you should have said so - come on you can come along to watch the football too. Forget those news channels and forget those xenophobes there 'aint nothing we can do to fix them. But being para or scared or blaming each other and whatnot as if that is gonna sort things out - it's not. The xenophobes watch trash TV. Now if you can convince trash TV to your cause then you have a winner. And I'm not being sarcastic, well may be I was earlier.

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

Which football game are you watching Psyah? I hear PD has a perfect record in predictions. Shall we invite him?

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

Touchy touchy.

Tsk tsk.

Simply saying that would have been better than a failed attempt at sarcasm.

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

Why so hostile? You misinterpreted my statement... it's not my fault that sarcasm is lost on u... a simple "I'm sorry for misunderstanding" would suffice.

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

I'm not defending anyone... kindly reread the post before becoming so self righteous. ..

Re: Why don’t Muslims protest against ISIS?

I’m not Muslim, and yet I feel Muslims do not need to protest against ISIS to prove to the world that they are anti-ISIS. However, I do feel that Muslim leaders should raise their voices and make their condemnation of ISIS clear to guide impressionable young Muslims away from the crazies. I was just reading about a similar effort by Muslim leaders in Mumbai

Mumbai Muslims ready plan to fight back Islamic State - The Times of India

Great idea to tap social media to reach out to young minds.

Re: Why don’t Muslims protest against ISIS?

I think many impressionable young Muslims are disillusioned by Muslim leaders, whoever they may be. Its sort of similar to the whole Trump phenomenon, where everyone is tired of the mainstream. They see the mainstream as being bought out, dishonest, no longer in touch with the ground realities… And any attack on the demagogues is just the mainstream trying to take back the initiative…And so any word from the so called mainstream just adds to the narrative. Im afraid any attempt at trying to convince these youth may be perceived as another cynical attempt to sway them.

Still, any effort is better then no effort at all. Whatever needs to be done, it has to be a holistic approach.

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

ISIS is a kind of problem that was created due to the actions of the west. If Muslims protest against it, there is nothing they will achieve other than appear apologetic to the west which will encourage those red necks to create these troubles again.
The best policy for Muslims is to keep distance from ISIS and let the west face them as a consequence of their own actions.

Re: Why don’t Muslims protest against ISIS?

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/27/world/asia/indonesia-islam-nahdlatul-ulama.html

…That powerful scene is one of many in a 90-minute film that amounts to a relentless, religious repudiation of the Islamic State and the opening salvo in a global campaign by the world’s largest Muslim group to challenge its ideology head-on.

The challenge, perhaps surprisingly, comes from Indonesia, which has the world’s largest Muslim population but which lies thousands of miles away from the Islamic State’s base in the Middle East…

World’s Largest Islamic Organization Tells ISIS To Get Lost

…And in Indonesia, home of the world’s largest Muslim population, a massive anti-extremism movement is underway.

Nahdlatul Ulama, or NU, is the largest independent Islamic organization in the world, with 50 million members. Part Sunni religious body, part political party and part charity, it was founded nearly 90 years ago, in 1926,as a response to another Sunni movement, Wahabbism.

Wahhabism is the ultra-conservative reform movement based in Saudi Arabia that advocates for puritanical laws from the time of Islam’s origins. It rejects the modern notion of “religion as a purely private activity” and the separation of church and state. The Islamic State is highly committed to Wahhabi principles, using its religious textbooksand embracing its hardline tradition of killing unbelievers.

NU’s stated goal is to “to spread messages about a tolerant Islam in their respective countries to curb radicalism, extremism and terrorism,” which, it claims, “often spring from a misinterpretation of Islamic teachings.” It launched its global anti-extremism initiative in 2014…

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

Can you do that? ISIS is operating in the heart of Muslim world, killing and raping mainly Muslims.

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

i am always around the corner uncle!

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

Who cares about apologies anymore... No one cares about Muslims apologies or protests Against isis. World is sick of those empty speeches that we Muslims are peaceful and these terrorists are not from us. If they are not from us, are they from nazis following hitter ideology? We are not even willing to accept we have a problem except empty apology rhetoric.

what we shd ask ourselves as Muslims ...
What have we done to root out the cancer of radicalization from our societies?

What have our Muslim govts done to shut down radicalized organizations in our countries?

What have our Muslim scholars done to root out radicalized Wahhabism and spread moderate religious views?

What have our policy makers done to eliminate elements of radicalization from our education syllabus?

It it is a long war and we have enemies within ourselves. Accept it and fix it.

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

Muslims should protest against Isis, agreed. Saudia the country which inspires their ideology is still sitting in western laps.

Re: Why don't Muslims protest against ISIS?

I'm scared. The paranoid side of me foresees some sort of religious world war between Muslim extremists and Christian ones in the distant future. All kinds of brainwashed to the point of no return haters within the Muslim community and nonMuslim community are going to take advantage of all this. The peaceful people like us that don't want any of this and just want to live a normal life are going to be stuck between the extreme, brainwashed thinkers.

The planned parenthood extremists killings are not even close to what we are dealing with here now with the Muslim couple going on a shooting rampage in CA. One being a US citizen. How brainwashed must they have been to leave their baby behind after doing such scary acts.

To add to all that, I live in a very gun-happy part of the United States, a very right, conservative state. Gun sales were at there highest on black friday in our state. I'm most scared of the ignorant, haters who have no knowledge but own guns...there are too many of those in the deep south.
