Yeah, that's democracy - not elective feudalism, which is what the Bhutto dynasty is perpetuating. By allowing Zardari and Bilawal to usurp the party leadership, the PPP has failed as an institution and been shown up to be a personality cult revolving around top feudals, with the leadership passing down the family.
Brother I am a Cambridge-grad myself and I do believe that we need more educated people in our parliament and government. Yes our politicians have flawed in the past but democracy I believe is THE ONLY way forward.
And I also believe that NS and PPP's top people like Aitezaz have matured now. Let's strengthen democratic institutions and judiciary in our country first and we shall inshallah reap the benefits soon. Self-serving military dictators are no viable alternative either.
2007 has been a truly forgettable year for Mush, so much blood-shed and chaos. I think it's the bloodiest year in our history

Why doesn't our military realize that if we don't have democracy then the demons of seperatism will rise and blame "punjabi establishment" for all of our problems.
As soon as the Champions of Democracy, the PPP, elect a leader rather than handing down posts through 'WILLS', we can all talk about democracy.

Yes Mujeeb was the elected PM as per constitution but you know what I meant there. ZAB was easily the most impressive statesman we had since Jinnah. He had a great personality, the way he spoke, the way he dressed himself, the way he walked and the way he conducted himself in the media and public. He was a genius and the country could have benefited a lot from his intelligence and wisdom. Allama Iqbal's son Justice (r) Javed Iqbal and Imran Khan also acknowledge that fact. I think ZAB was badly let down by his advisers. Nevertheless our nuclear programme is a credit to ZAB
I have same kinds of feelings about ZAB. He had many cons too, like bad temprament, stubborn, socialist economic views and dealing with establishment/hardcore politicians. He was the person, who if was not engaged in filthy internal politics, could have deliver a lot for the country. He wanted to remain non-aligned, and take advantage of Pakistna's position from both super power. He refused to bow down to Washington and paid the price. Henry Kessingger famously threatened him when he refused to rollback his nuclear program. He was the man with great guts. Only if his own party members (black sheeps inserted by ISI in 1970) and PNA had let him focus on his work.
He was touched by socialism while studying at UCLA @ Berkley and there came in his mind of an Islamic Socialist Republic where people rule the country unlike most of the Islamic countries where dictators were in power. His policies while he was foriegn minister in 60s earned him respect in the hearts of nation. His ideology of uniting all Muslim countries later showed glimpsed of his dream and vision. Ofcourse Uncle SAM got mad at him and did to him and to the country what is now part of history and unchangeable.
