No matter how bad the political parties of Pakistan. Stable and ongoing democratic system would have weeded out the bad apples eventually. It was working just fine actually. Benazir would have had heck of a time getting re-elected given her past performance when Musharraf decided to take over.
Fazl-ur-rehman is not really a big player in Pakistan politics. The only person with any credentials left is Nawaz Sharif and that is not saying much. A new leader was going to emerge - if only Musharraf had let things be. It is still not too late. It requires Army elites to go back to doing the job they are hired for and stop being the haram khors that they have become.
