Why doesn't god reveal him/her/itself...

^^

Brahamachari99, very well said.

I dont think yea-boii is challenging the existence of God. At least s/he hasnt done that yet.

but anyway, my question to u wud b: whats a difference b/w a Nokia digital camera & one of those 10RS camera that when looks into, shows Walt Disney characters?

First of all, If you want to see Allah with a body and confined to a space then remember, Allah cannot be defined, described in terms of time and space. He existed even before time and space came into being.

Secondly, Allah gave us free will and brains to think. There are so many manifestations around us that make us think that this intricate and beautiful world cannot be without a creator.

Thirdly, Messengers were sent with His message for us to ponder but Allah gave us free will to accept it or reject it. His messengers were the best evidence of the existence of our creator. If we still need more evidence then what can I say..

Fourth, Allah is the lord of the whole universe. We never find courage to question an ordinary ruler of a state then who are we to question the very act of Allah? He does what He desires.

Re: Why doesn't god reveal him/her/itself...

He has shown Himself, through everything that exists, only the blind have trouble seeing Him.

Re: Why doesn't god reveal him/her/itself...

^I totally agree with you. But the question is, why do people who claim to have recognized him, fail to agree upon what he wants? where do things go wrong when He is one and thus the truth has to be one?

You seem to be going off track here. :-)

Why even worry about being able to see Allah/God????

~If a test is to be taken in classroom then why worry about the location and picture of examiner ? Just study and take the exam!

Re: Why doesn't god reveal him/her/itself...

^no, i m not. i actually am coming back to the main question that was

"why doesnt God reveal himself, and the end the whole "true religion" argument"

OK. :-)

Being able to see God/Allah will still not accomplish the goal as assumed by OP...I think if that is the goal.

Re: Why doesn't god reveal him/her/itself...

^I think (assume!) that when the OP said "reveal", it was meant figuratively.....

I am not going to dwell on this but if you read his first post and then post 11 and 13 responses, this is not what he meant as figuratively.

And even if we consider true as you think it was figuratively meant then the question is even sillier....

If one cannot figure out even figuratively (pun intended) then there can not be a satisfactory answer at all.

Atheistic mind cannot be satisfied. But atheistic and inquisitive mind is very unstable. These either go all the way in to religion or go completely opposite direction and stop asking question at all. Read the stories of muslim converts.

You may learn this hard way if not already, faith matters cannot be answered at this basic level. It is waste of time in my humble opinion.
**
**~A simple evidence may be huge for those who are willing and a discussion full of volume of books means nothing if mind is not willing to accept.

Trying to learn faith by logic is like trying to sail a boat by tooth pick! ........(diwana) :-)

Re: Why doesn't god reveal him/her/itself...

I'll leave it for Yea-Boii now to return and continue if he's still interested....he needs to make his question clear first//

Re: Why doesn't god reveal him/her/itself...

Let me be the devil's advocate.

Boii's question is valid. Millions of people on globe are sincerely striving to please God according to their own religion. These religions are in many ways exact opposite of each other.

People are hating and killing each, sincerely beleiving, that's what God wants them to do.

Re: Why doesn't god reveal him/her/itself...

^ One can argue other ways:

1- There are more territorial fights than religious fights. People name territorial fights

religious color so they could use emotional support to justify a fight.

2- More people fought and got killed for non-religious ideologies than religious
differences .

3- There are only two countries in the world based and created on 'purely' religious
ideologies, and yet territorial divide was the result of both.

4- When Russians invaded Afghanistan, religious factor was used to fight against them.

and allah ceated every person the way they are so if someone has logical mind and asks questions ..it's thanks to allah god rama krishna whatever... and this fact puts the blame back on the almighty..

PS: I refuse to worship anyone out of fear of anything

Re: Why doesn't god reveal him/her/itself...

Logically speaking God expects healthy doubt from logical mind and at the same time illoigcal ones are not cabable of reason and hence they too are right in blind faith.. as long as noone puts sword to anyone's neck this should be all fine

Re: Why doesn’t god reveal him/her/itself…

Why does Allah not show Himself?

Re: Why doesn't god reveal him/her/itself...

i feel God shows Himself in every little thing . all we cansee is God around us in everything we do

Because part of our tawheed/belief is to have faith in the unseen.

It's easy to believe in things we can see.....as they say......"seeing is believing."

However, I've heard that that's Allah's way of testing us....to see if we'll believe even though we can't see.

I think some past generations were punished by Allah because instead of following His messengers who only came to them with guidance and asked for nothing else in return (such as monetary gains).................they instead mocked the messengers.......or physically hurt them...........and would demand **physical/visible **signs or proof of Allah and that Islam is the true religion.

Also, Allah has mentioned in the Quran several signs that point to the existence of a divine creator. And He has, at various points, referred to people as "those who think".......in other words "those who think and contemplate on the world around them and question at how these things came into being." For example, the earth rotates.....but it's not us who control it. Every cell in your body knows exactly what it should do without any effort on your part. Plants have their own systems........the seasons take place regularly. Amidst the chaos that we humans cause in our world.........there is still so much balance and complexity seen in the various systems of our planet and in the universe. There's a complex design.....therefore there is a designer.......whether visible to us or not.

:-)

It depends on what you mean by the word ‘Reveal’ or ‘Revelation’.

Reveal means ‘to make known/ to uncover’.

Revelation is the process (act of) of uncovering (truth).

God has already revealed His Will to mankind. The speaker in the Quran is -in the first person- is God. The book claims throughout that it is the word of God. It names itself 70 times as the Quran. It talks about its own contents. It has self reference. Second chapter of the Quran begins by “This is the book, there is no doubt in it, it is guidance for those who are conscious of God” and so on. It begins that way and continues that way stressing that.

The fourth Surah 82nd Ayah which says to those who say Quran is something else than the word of God. It challenges them saying: “Have they not considered the Quran, if it came from someone other than God they will find in it many mistakes”.

Many time you will find the Ayah saying something like: Do they say such and such and so, say to them such and such and so. In every case there is a reply. More than that the Quran claims that the evidence of its origin is in itself, and that if you look at this book you will be convinced.

So that the Quran does not demand belief, the Quran invites belief, and here is the fundamental difference (with respect to other books). It is not simply delivered as: here is what you are to believe, but throughout the Quran the statements are always: Have you O man thought of such and such, have you considered so and so. It is always an invitation for you to look at the evidence; now what you believe.

‘Faith’ means confidence or trust

Islam does not tell you to have faith, rather it tell us to have ‘Ima’an’. Often the word Ima’an is translated as faith (but that’s a feeble translation). Ima’an comes from the root word which means ‘confirmation’. So your Ima’an is something you have checked upon.

So in Islam a person’s crime is not what he believes, his (her) crime is whether he checks on what he (she) believes in.
