… And feels good about it?
What kind of mindset, religious teaching or even ‘human’ nature is that?
P.S. The question is not related to ‘wishing’ for someone who is obvious threat to life of a person or family etc.

Re: Why does someone pray for....someone's death
why are you asking such an intense question? it's hard to answer, there are some horrible people in this world and sometimes praying to God they not exist is the only way to be free from that person.

I think no matter how much we hate someone, praying for the death of that person is against simple morality and humanity.
Praying for good is a better deed than using prayer for bad intention.
Off course as I mentioned earlier, a direct threat to life of person or family for example is different issue.
Thanks for asking.
Re: Why does someone pray for....someone's death
What kind of mindset, religious teaching or even 'human' nature is that?:
a) a warped mindset with an undernote of psychotic behavior
b) many freaky deaky sects out there
c) humans seem to lack humanity these days
Re: Why does someone pray for....someone's death
I dont really believe someone would pray like that.
Re: Why does someone pray for....someone's death
Some people hate out of jealousy and envy others out after suffering cruelty..it is important to forgive people in life but forgiveness is very difficult, even the Prophet struggled with it, he showed great patience (sabr) and his faith was constantly tested. I really wished bad for someone once and while i wouldn't go to the extent of praying for their death..i felt very guilty..
i am reminded of Surah Lahab 'May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed ' that tells me even the noblest can hurt and hate.

Please read about the detail of this Surah and the meaning with the background of it. Read about Abu Lahab
acts and the end of his life also.
In essence, it was not the hate of the prophet SAW, but the condemnation and revelation about his destiny by Allah, which is talked about in this surah.
P.S. Quran is not the word of Prophet SAW.
Re: Why does someone pray for....someone's death
^ All that and we also have this thought that if today we are praying for someone else then tomorrow people will pray for us .

Re: Why does someone pray for…someone’s death
It’s a sad thing to do, no one should ever pray for someone’s death (except Zardari’s
)

In a world where people even pay/conspire/plan for someone/millions of people's death, you are worried why some one pray for this
