i wear foundation every day…when i wake up I wash my face and apply moisturizer and then my foundation…i love how it looks on my skin, and I look fresh, however, after a few hours, i notice that my foundation starts to get darker, or i look darker…how can i get my foundation to stay the same color as when i apply it first thing in the morning???
please help!!!

It's probably the type of foundation your'e using. I use Maybelline New York Mineral Makeup (including the foundation) and it is truly AMAZING. I apply it before going to uni and when I return (sometimes 12-13 hrs later (on long days) and it still looks as though I JUST applied it. It remains soo perfect and smooth MA. I have tried other more expensive brands and found that Maybelline is the best for me.
U're face is exposed to heat, sunlight, dust, wind. Foundation sometimes splits and sometime's it oxidizes and changes color. A primer helps it stay-on for longer..

OMG thats my foundation! what a coincidence...i LOVE the mineral foundation by maybelline, and also the superstay....however i still am not getting that freshly applied look....
i also use a primer....do i need anything else?

Maybe you have acne-prone/oily skin which causes it to shift or wear off eventually? I mean it works great on Princess. Or maybe you should apply it with a stifle brush like the #187 from MAC?
Or you should let your moisturiser sit for 5-10 minutes before priming and putting on foundation since all that greasy-ness can take away from your foundation?

Hey girls what I do is use the whole Maybelline kit. This consists of the following:
1)Natural Perfecting Concealer
2)Natural Perfecting Powder Foundation
3)Finishing Veil
(That's in order)
And that's how you get the perfect flawless look all day long. Oh but I moisturise and sunscreen before I apply any makeup of course...even though the powder foundation has an SPF18 in it I still apply SPF30 too.
This has never caused me to break out or anything but I am only applying makeup maximum 2 times a week..and my skin is dry to normal if that helps.
My foundation does the same 
, after an hour or so I start looking darker. I do use a primer first (Urban Decay) and I use the Makeup Forever HD foundation. Is it because I apply it with my fingers? Would applying with a brush help?

if a foundation changes colour on you, nothing will help. the ingredients react with the oils in the skin etc.
try a different foundation. some foundations are known to do this more than others so google first.

i think its the ingredients within ur foundtion that when get in touch with ur body oil n heat they oxidise. may b u should switch from mineral foundation. i would try using a silicone based primer and a good sunscreen b4 my foundation. then set it with some finishing powder.

Definetly apply foundation with a brush...preferable the round/thick ones.
Anything u apply before the foundation would change the color of u're foundation too. A foundation reacts with sebum/heat and oxidizes and changes color. Switch to a different foundation.. and 'set' foundation with powder. Primers really help the foundation looking fresh..

What do you mean your face goes dark? As in back to your own skin tone? Or your face looks dirty?
Why dont you use a blush or a bronzer to take the focus off the whole of your face? and on to your cheekbones.
I noticed when i used a pressed powder on my face it would go so dull, And patchy, But when i used a mineral loose powder, My make up stays put. And when i have a bronzer it defines my cheek bones and takes the focus off my foundation etc.
I use NYC bronzer I think its amazing. And atm i use 2 foundations at the same time one is rimmel the matte one (not sure what its called atm) And the second one is the new rimmel that just come out. That adapts to your skin tone. I love them both!
After this founation is finished i try another one, I never stick to the same foundation because they change the colours all the time. So i'm always mixing and matching. So do play around with your colours and try to mix n match, Hopefully it will make a difference!
