India is making a big fuss when Pakistan is getting much needed defensive upgrades on its Weapon Systems such as the F-16’s and yet India continues to buy up weapons from Russia, Israel and other nations.
*India has agreed to buy three more stealth warships and 28 cruise missiles from Russia for more than $1bn.
**India remains one of the world’s biggest arms importers and has one of the largest navies, with at least 25 warships and 16 submarines.
*So basically, India beleives it can buy all the military hardware it wants and yet when Pakistan buys even the tinest of military purchases India becomes fearful.
Re: Why does India complain when Pakistan buys Weapons?
no hypocracy.....you also complain whenever india gets something.
Basically it's all diplomacy:
if we dont oppose weapon sales to pakistan, then everyone will feel even more free to sell their weapons to it in future.
so the same diplomacy from pakistan also (i hope so)
Re: Why does India complain when Pakistan buys Weapons?
Well like even Pakistan protested to the US when the Indo-US nuclear deal was signed between India and the US.
At first Pakistan said that it wants a same deal. Then it said that this deal is a threat to non-proliferation, and strategic balance and again a few days ago, Pakistan Foreign minister asked the US and western nations for a similar deal.
If India is buying 3 frigates from Russia, then Pakistan is also buying 4 frigates from China, FC-1 and J-10 fighters from China.
