Why does everyone hate us?

I’ve been reading a few threads on this forum about why everyone hates us or thinks badly of us and answers like “Oh it’s because we’re not polite and push into queues.” or “If we were nice to other people they’ll be nice to us.” etc. were amusing.

That’s rubbish, first off Pakistanis are more courteous than any other community, in fact we’re too nice and that makes us look down there, there’s a limit to everything.

Also unlike other communities we are not as refined, except for me and my family, most Pakistani(s)…

  • Houses smell of curry

  • Live in terrace housing on the outskirts of big cities and drive a Toyota Corolla or Nessan Sunny despite being loaded with money

  • Leave their rubbish in their back alleys

  • Don’t assimilate into the local community, hold onto our ****ty culture not matter how crappy it is.

  • Not as well groomed as other people i.e. aunties with moustaches, big asses and stomachs, hairy legs and big glasses and uncles with ugly moustaches, scruffy South Asian clothes or even worse shirts which are too tight for their big curry/ beer bellies.

  • Not having posh manners is not the reason in fact people lust after rude bad boys.

Re: Why does everyone hate us?

Though its true for most families, but not all
atleast i shun this
[list][li] Houses smell of curry
[/li]mine doesnt though we do cook it.

[li]Live in terrace housing on the outskirts of big cities and drive a Toyota Corolla or Nessan Sunny despite being loaded with money
[/li]only for that reason i hate japanese brands, we need to try others available in the market and that what i do. i have driven enough these lot in Pakistan.

[li]Leave their rubbish in their back alleys
[/li]nnnnnnnnnah

[li]Don’t assimilate into the local community, hold onto our ****ty culture not matter how crappy it is.
[/li]thats true, that may be one reason people dont know us and just assume about us.
but I try to mingle with all.

it very hard to chnage them, cause they are old. but it doesnt fit on me :)

but seriously, cause i may be branded as non traditional but i do what I like, thats why most desi people when come to my place, have strange look on their face, like its not what they have expected from a Pakistani house.

creating totally isolated community and culture will not solve this until we engage local communities, and we dont have to change or adopt their values completely but do have to respect for theirs to get recognitions for our cultures and values.
