bcoz mobile in general is anything hawai, u know, koi bhi kaam jaldi jaldi ya, hawa mein ho jaye mobile kehlata hai, like there ia mobile police in lahore i think.
Cellphone should be the correct word.
and i was a samsung fan, but since i bought my SE, im lovin it.

When it was first invented, it was huge and battery was big as well, and to carry this Mobile phone people need a taxi... later they reduced the size... it is still called as Mobile Phone...
After they invented Ni-Cad and Lithium small size batteries and Microchip circuitry, the phone sizes were reduced dramatically and more and more functions including Multimedia were offered, now it is called as Cell Phone... specially in North America, but in Asia and Middle East its still referred as Mobile Phone...
