I don’t wear dupatta on my head when reading the Quran. It is a book of guidance and should be treated as such. Read it whenever you need Islamic guidance etc. Dupatta and wudhu etc is not compulsory, just a cultural thing and in many opinions a sign of respect.

We had a discussion in R&S forum about touching Quran without wudu.
