Apparently Inzmam and Nasim Ashraf will appear before National Assembly seperately related to “cricket matters”. Now, I’m as disappointed in Pakistan’s performance in WC as the neighbor’s dog next door (ok, may be a little more) but it’s a friggin’ game. Don’t we have something better to discuss than call on National Assembly session to discuss Cricket? If Inzmam’s appearance is related to match-fixing matters then I’m still ok with discussing it in NA. Afterall, it’s more of a matter of “corruption” and “gambling” and all other bad money-dealings. So yeh.
But Nasim Ashraf appearing before NA to answer to team’s bad performance??? How about we place our national pride (or shame thereof) on more meaningful things like economy and sugar prices and poverty levels or even sheer existence of Mushraf as a human being (in which case his parents may be call upon before NA). But Cricket???
I think its not the entire national ass-embly but just in front of the Committee on Sports etc. And this is entirely understandable as politicians by very nature want to be seen doing things that interest the voters. And voters are upset at the cricket team right now.
i was more distraught over the Bob Woolmer dieing than getting BEAT out of the world cup; apparently the team was too busy preaching Islam amongst each other than preparing for the match(es).
sh*T our hockey team "LEAFS" lost from the playoffs.....but yeah we were upset but we dont talk sh*T about the players or anything :) its just a game, u win some u loose some :)
it's not just cricket , but we as a nation takes all sort of defeats way too seriously & intensly , though it's just part of life ................... and as far as NA session in this reagard is concerned , at least this way all MNAs would get to work instead of lingering around here n there.
