Why do we differ

Assalam O Alaikum

Has some one ever noticed as to why there are so many sects now adays. (73 Sects as predicted by Prophet SAW) Each one of them claims to be following Quran and Sunnah and even then they differ with each other.

What is the reason? Why they have difference with each other?

The reason i personnaly think is that the Muslim Ummah today is following imams / individuals and not Quran / Sunnah. Take an example of sunnis first, there are hanafis, shafi’ee, malki and others and i have heard that they even cannot pray in each others mosque, take for example Shi’a community, they too have sects, regardless to say that shia and sunnis will not pray in each others mosque.

Now if i ask a hanafi, key bhai tum is tarah namaz kiyon partay ho, he will say, Imam abu Hanifa ney aisay namaz parney ko bola hay. Allah key banday you have to pray in the way Prophet SAW has told us to pray not in the way imam abu hanifa or any other imam.

Regardless to say that all the imams must have been really great Muslims (Wallah o Alam) but do you people think that we have to follow them.

My sole desire to write this is to tell my brothers and sisters that Islam, the selected religion by Allah Almighty is in following His book i.e. Quran and His Messanger (SAW)'s Sunnah. Now some ppl may say, that a normal person is not able to understand such things, Wallah this is not true, Allah SWT has sent Islam for the whole mankind not for a part of our society i.e. the scholars. So definitely its something understandable by everyone.

Had all the Muslims in the World being following the Quran and Sunnah only there would have been only Muslims today and not sunnis and shias and …

May Allah SWT guide us to the right path and enable us to understand His religion.
