i,ll say what i think is the reason(s).
Why muslims hate the west. Because majority of us are bigots. Islam teaches us tolerance and equality. Yet we are the biggest racists. We have this false sense of superiority where we think we are the best religion/nation in the world. But that only stays there, we have no actions to back that sense of superiority. Infact its quite ironic that islam teaches honesty and all the good things, yet muslims states are some of the most corrupt in the world. Take an example of our own motherland, Pakistan. Now compare the day to day system of pakistan with some of the western communities.... I see a lot more honesty and transparency in their systems than ours. What good is ur islamic justice when the cop is gona take 500 rupees and let someone go anyway?
I consider muslims today the biggest hypocrites of this world unfortunately. Because they call themselves muslims and have this sense of superiority and then they do all the bad things that are supposedly haram or not allowed in islam.
Now compare that to a western society. Hay its perfectly fine to drink, have a girlfriend, just go to a bar/nightclub, dance the ngiht away, if u pick someone up... take them home. Its all 'acceptable' in their society. And they do it... so no ones doing anything wrong. Other than that their normal day to day system is a lot more efficient, people are civilized, a lot more polite, and honest(Exceptions exist on both sides). Now who are you to call them beghairat and baihaya when they are not doing anything baighairat or bayhaya according to their own soceity's norms? while you, mister big ass muslim, drink, screw around, lie, offer bribes, and do everything else behind closed doors. Which is all 'unaccpetable' in ur society/religion.
Another reason, media on both sides. This i,d have to say, western media does play a big role in magnifying that hatred for muslims among the westerners. Too much of negative propaganda on CNN, BBC, and thats all they watch. Sometimes, things might be bad, but not AS bad as whats shown or portrayed in their media. That increases hate on both sides,,, them seeing their own channels and papers and stuff and making up wrong opinions and assumptions about an every day muslim. And vice versa.
West still doesnt understand what islam is. And muslims, lets just say,,, islam is a way of life, and not about bowing 5 times a day reading something in arabic which majority of u dont even understand. Its not about little kids reading quran in arabic thinking they are getting 10 naikies for every harf they are reading, while not understanding a single word they are saying. You want respect? you earn it. What have muslims done to earn it? back in the early days, islam spread because of the teachings and how impressive they were in their day to day lives.
majority of the west still thinks islam teaches oppressing women. What they dont understand is,,, 1400 years ago. women were treated like animals, worse than than animals. Islam changed that. and gave women back their honour. but they dont look at it that way. cos they dont know any better. and no one is helping them understand either. We are too busy cursing their supposed baihayaee.
Also, us muslims should realize that islam is a way of life,, a progressive way of life. The basic principals are the same, but that doesnt mean u still have to ride a camel cos the Prophet PBUH did. Cars are halal too u know. and Allah isnt gona whip you if ur beard it an inch shorter than the mullah giving the sermon. One should move on with times. Pray, be honest, tell the truth, be nice to poor, , help the orphans,, that all remains the same, but come on. Doesnt mean you have to still live in the 7th century. Move on. Adopt good things from others, learn new technologies, get education. If someone knows more than u. you learn from him and try and move forward. and maybe........ learn ur own religion. The real one. the PT you do 5 times a day without knowing what ur saying or reading that big book in arabic and kissing it without knowing what it says wont get u far, in this world or the next.
The west should try and change the stereotypes as well. They should educate themselves more about what real islam is as well, and what it teaches, instead of looking for all the negative things, they should for a change, try and focus on the good things. Reading about 3 psychotic idiots in the paper who blew up a building and killed people in the name of Allah calling themselves muslims shouldnt make them hate their muslim neighbour who works hard at the fruit market to earn some money for his family.
