well i have read a bit on this subject and i have some points over this subject
well the sikh religion started of a as religion of sufism guru nanak preached brotherhood and sikhism was a middle way between islam and hindusim . sikhism was againt the brahmanical hindu order and there were many things which was not favoured by the muslim rulers
intially it was the upper caste hindus who were against the sikh religion cause it was the brahmins and the upper caste who bore its brunt
and infact it was many upper caste hindus who actually poisoned the ear of muslim rulers against the new religion
the muslim rulers of the time thought of sikhism as another form of threat and some of the muslim rulers behaved in a very tyranical manner and killed sikh gurus in cold brother. actually islam was a just a pretext it was more of a social and political fight. it was very much the manner in which usa is going out after muslims today.
then the last guru guru gobindsinghs father was put to death by mughal rulers to avenge his fathers death this sikh from bihar formed a huge army which became a parrelel force to the muslim rulers. so it was guru gobind singh who changed it from a sufi to a militant religion
eventually guru gobind singh was assasinated and this further agrivated the relations between muslims and sikhs
but sikhs were a new religion and it had more young and dedicated people in it soon it over came the muslim rulers and became a regional force. it was the british which invaded and destroyed the sikh kingdom with the help of neigbouring pathans
sikh religious books often talk of mughal atrocities against thier gurus which are more often than nought interpreted as muslim atrocities or islam atrocities which is not correct.
as partition happened there was a sikh leader called master tara singh now master tara singhs 28 relatives died in rawalpindi on direct action called by jinnah sahab . so he was another version of guru gobindsingh
and when partition riots started master tara singh was armed and very well armed to extract revenge on muslims. unlike the muslims sikhs was very well armed with stashed weapens and they had formed jathas or groups that would attack muslims. many of them consisted of ex british army veterans.
when partition riots started sikhs and hindus left from pakistan in huge kafilas or caravans many of them were killed on the way by muslims.
but on the indian side of punjab it was a holocast muslims were massacared where ever they were found by sikhs and the local hindu rss
muslim woman were abducted in large numbers infact for many years after partition there was a active flesh trade of abducted muslim woman
hardly any muslim was left alive in indian punjab and to add salt over injury many muslim dominated districts like ferozepur and gurdaspur were handed over to the indian punjab
thus there was a sad and biiter ending to the muslim punjabi and sikh punjabi
today i find there is some but not too much animosity for muslims among the young sikhs may be because there arnt any muslim punjabis alive in indian punjab. but old sikhs do remember partition too well they love and hate the muslims in same breath.
but i see there is a great deal of hatred among the muslim punjabis for the sikhs .punjabi muslims hate sikhs from bottom of thier heart maybe the horor stories of partition are still being told by thier grand parents
but i think by and large the sikhs are good people.
Adnan the whole point of the partition was for muslims to have their own country, so what would be the point of sikhs coming to live in pakistan and why would they if most of them are anti-pakistan? Would you ever go to live in India even if there was peace between the both countries?

The Sikhs patriot/ freedom fighters deserve a safe haven, other wise the Indians would torture them to death. Defying all UN lawas I might add. Its only generosity. We would expect the same of Sikhs.:)
Well I wouldnt live in India, but it would be nice to know that I have the option. At the very least, we should allow the option to the Sikhs and others. We should make it clear to them thhat they are not citizens, unless they aply to be, or if their children are born in the country.
Pakistan will always be a Muslims country, its basis will always be Islam, why should we be afraid of non-Muslims? Diversity is a strength not a weakness. And imagine how bad it would reflect oN India if people started migrating to our side.

I know someone who is very close to me who is with a sikh guy. The weird thing is, this girl who is muslim, claims to be very religious, but hes not converting to islam. She has basically run away to spain to live with this guy. Both families dont know about this. The girls family thinks she works in scotland. I feel the families should know. Its like been 15 years that they have been together... is this not wrong?
I admit Muslim kings in the past have committed many atrocities sometimes for their own political agendas, sometimes to subdue seperatists and sometimes to punish those comitting treason... All in the name of Islam.

During the partition (1947) the Sikhs slaughtered my maternal grandmothers younger brother and other people from their family, does that mean we hate all Sikhs because of what those rabid dogs did?
After the golden temple incident many Sikh extremists murdered Hindus and clean-shaved Sikhs, does that mean we hold all Sikhs responsible?
Shall we say that these Sikhs were inspired by the verses of the Granth which prophesise Sikh imperialism? Believe me there are verses in the Granth which can be misintrepreted to be very intolerant of Islam and Hinduism.

Many Muslims feel pressured into converting into Hinduism by the Arya Samajh through "purification ceremonies", and many do so becoming crypto-Muslims to save their ass from Hindu wrath.
Some Hindus burn down Muslim houses with women, babies and elderly inside because they ate beef! Cows are more sacred than humans to them. Does that mean all Hindus are like that?
Many Sikh girls in the West marry Muslim guys and convert but that is not because of some Islamic agenda, the type of Paki guys who date Sikh girls and then marry them are not exactly very Muslim, they date and they drink (both of which is haraam), those girls only convert for their in-laws..
It works the other way too, I know Pashtun girls who have run away with Sikh guys...
People whose daughters marry/elope into other communities should tell their daughters/sisters to close their legs instead of making their personal honour an issue of community vs. community and pulling everyone else into their hatred and that goes for Muslims aswell as Sikhs.
