opposites attract breakups(most of the time). i think only desperate people say that opposites attract or they're intensely flexible and easy going personality-wise

I feel like I understand people who are opposite than who I am much better. I clash with people who are similar to me (I actually have not come across a person who is very similar to me anyways..but those who do have some similarities, I often clash with them).
I am a very stubborn, strong minded and firm opinionated person. If I marry someone who is similar, it's gona be one hell of a disaster.

but you would probably only need for your partner to be flexible in some things in order for it to work but in terms of beliefs and culture, interests.....like say if you wanted to go to the eid get together but your hubby is an introvert plus he hates social occasions, doesn't like celebrating anything would you still want him to be opposite to most of what you are?

Yeah, sometimes it's true and sometimes it ain't. Varies from person to person, relationship to relationship. If you're loud, stubborn and aggressive being with someone similar to you might not be such a great idea...
