WHY DO PEOPLE HATE PAKISTANIS

Roshi:
The conduct by the policeman towards you is unpardonable by most of us. We are trying to create a society free of prejudice - an impossible goal. We do however have made a significant progress toward this goal. I do not know to what extent the US will succeed in wiping out prejudice but one thing I know for sure that we have less prejudice and hate in America than you have in Pakistan.

Just look at all the hateful post on pak.org against the Indians and Americans, or against all Kaffirs in general. They are comparable to hateful attutude of fanatics like KKK or Aryan Nation. The difference is that we consider KKK and AN criminal and outcast organizations and our government tries its best to keep them in check. Pakistanis on the other hand openly propogate hate.

Now let's examin the case of police brutality. You and your friend know that you could file a case against the policeman who supposadely treated you unfairly. Coud you have filed complined against a Pakistani policeman had he beat you up in Karachi? I seriously doubt.

Have you considered the possibility that the policeman's brother was killed in one of the bombings by Muslims and you represented to him the evil in Pakistani clothes? Let's look at some of the incidents that could have killed his brother:
1. Bombing of USS Cole by Muslim terrorists who find a safe haven in Afghanistan, a Pakistani stoog country.
2. Bombing of two U.S. embassys in Africa by Islamic terrorists
3. Bombing of US embassy in Argentina by Pakistani nationals
4. Bombing of the World Trade Center by Pakistani nationals
5. Killing of two State Dept officials in DC by Pakistani nationals

These are just a few examples.

Our law is fair to all Amaricans, even those of Pakistani nationality. But before you start slinging mud at us, look at yourself first. Look at all those killing of minorities in Pakistan and in Kashmir by Pakistani terrorists (Dont't try to deviate by bringing up the issue of attrocities commited by the Indians agains Muslims in Kashmir. It's a seperate issue)

Muslims have the well-earned reputation of being international terrorists. So do not blame anyone if they treat you as such.

Howzzaaaaaaaaat !!!

"I even don't have clue as to what r u trying to say...can u tell us something abt racism u've brought in....I don't believe there is any kinda racism within Pakistan..."

you've got to be kidding?

"I see more racism from the pakistani community than I do from the the whites."

Me too. Go to any desi gathering and just listen.

"schopenhauer Muslims have the well-earned reputation of being international terrorists. So do not blame anyone if they treat you as such."

I agree everytime something happens I always suspect another group of so called muslims too. If they were not so many such hateful organisations doing such horrible things in the name of islam we wouldn't have such a bad rep.

However I think you're full of $#!++ on that last part. Just cause there are people out there doing all these things does not give anyone the right to hate any and every person who looks a certain way or follows a given religion.

According to your logic we should all hate white christians the most. Who else took over so many countries around the world through out history and killed and enslaved millions of people all in the name of God?

Is that fair? Either way it is very wrong.

Also I think some of you must have failed
english comprehension. BOLEY BALE LARKI's comment refers to all the punjabi. sindi, mohajir etc BS. Where'd you guys come off thinking she said leave your culture?

There's a major problem to work on right there. Getting all worked up and offended before even understanding what the other person is talking about?!

Terroists are not born, they are made.

Where ever there is a percieved injustice, you will find a 'terroist' or a 'freedom fighter', depneding on which side of the fence you are sitting.

I do not condone terrorism. I do not think America is as innocent as it thinks it is... This is why they are so suprised when their ships and trade centers get bombed.

This is departing from the origial topic of this dicussion. If you would like to debate this particular issue further, I suggest you either email me personaly or start a new topic.

Waquas and Pilot:
I agree that the yesteryear atrocities of the Europeans in Asia and Africa are reprehensible. In fact, shooting at Jalian Walla Bag by the British soldiers was a pure case of terrorism. In fact, the history of human kind is full of conquests and carnage all over the globe. But, we have all evolved and hopefully have developed a healthy distaste for what happened. All over the world, enemies of yesteryear are learning to work together (e.g. China and Japan, Japan and U.S., Russia and U.S., England and Germany etc. )

The world is shrinking and its people are coming ever closer together. For example, over 66% of Asians in the U.S. marry outside their community, nearly 30% of all software engineers and 17% of high-tech CEOs in the Silicon Valley are of Indian origin. A member of once hated Jew community was nominated to the vice president of the U.S. and he won the popular vote. Many Muslims in the U.S. have more rights to religious freedom than in the country they originally came from.

We can always point finger at the past and whip ourselves into a hate frenzy. But is it constructive? Apparently the Muslim terrorists think so. Why are there Muslim fundamentalist conflicts in countries across the globe – from the Philippines to Kosovo. You can count over 10 conflicts on the globe involving some Muslim group. Why are Muslims in Kashmir are considered oppressed, when Muslims in the rest of the India are not. Why are Muslims in Chechnya considered oppressed when Muslims in other former Soviet countries are not. Why can’t Palestinians negotiate peace with Israel if Jordan and Egypt could. Why can’t Pakistanis negotiate peace with India if the Bangaladesis can leave in peace with the Indians.

You can always come up with reasons to justify terrorism but does it make it right. The U.S.-hating Muslims keep forgetting that it was U.S. and not any of these Muslim-brotherhood-preaching Muslim countries that came to the rescue of the one million Kosovar Muslims. It is not uncommon for the Pakistanis to go out and burn an American flag after he has dined on American-donated PL480 food grain. A major portion of humanitarian aid to the starving Afghanis still comes from America.

I am sure that only a very small fraction of Muslims are terrorists but they account for most of the international terrorism. So do you blame the rest of the world if they are a little weary of the Muslims. I may have used the word hate because it was the topic of discussion, I did not mean it. We do not hate Muslims but the Muslim terrorists, wherever they may be.

If the Indians can live in peace with the British after the Jalian Walla Bag massacre (a truly reprehensible act ) then the Muslims can learn to forego the past and forge a working relationship with their neighbors and work to make this better place for all our children.

"we have all evolved and hopefully have developed a healthy distaste for what happened."

If that were the case there would not still be so many problems in the world today.

"Apparently the Muslim terrorists think so"

There's no such thing of a muslim terrorist. No one who is a terrorist can possible be a muslim regardless of what they claim. Islam teaches, peace, love and respect of all people.

Also on that note.. how did this whole 'fundamentalist' bs come about? it's the media who decided to call the trouble makers this and then expanded this definition to all practicing muslims. Suddenly anyone who's got a beard, wears a burka/hijab, says their prayers , fasts etc have all been stuck in this category. No wonder it's now assumed by the ignorant public that Islam and muslim = terrorists.

"You can always come up with reasons to justify terrorism but does it make it right."

I certainly never did that. I was making a point that either way no matter who is involved it's still wrong.

The real problem is that 'muslims' are blaming everyone else for their stuipd problems which are all their own fault to begin with. If they didn't fight amongst each other so much they wouldn't be in such a mess. No outside power could possibly corrupt a country unless they wanted to be.

I don't feel sorry for the great 'muslim ummah'. However I don't like how Islam has been perverted by (most severely by it's own) people either. The greatest enemy of Islam is definitely it's 'own people' right now.

I agree with you guys .... it is not the Muslim world as such which is at fault here, a handful of violent and vociferous extremists( lets not call them terrorists) have sullied the image of the entire Muslim popoulation. The problem lies in the fact that all other religions accept that there are other valid religions, except islam. The funda of kafir or non believer is taken seriously , and if you go through the Quran( I have had my muslim friends in India go through it) , the treatment for kafirs is 1) show him and convert him to the true faith ie islam, kill him is he does not agree or differs or is a threat to islam , 3) impose a religious tax after vanquishing him (please tell me if this information is correct after reading the Quran.)

Every religion has accepted its intolerance and have become more diplomatic, if not actually tolerant. But I can t say the same for Islam. Islam as such has the same principles as the other great religions, peace , brotherhood, etc etc , the fault lies in the people who have interpreted it fo their benifit. And who have managed to foist their teaching or interpretations on the rest of the populace.

I find nothing wrong with pakistanis or any other country's people. The basic problem is the small group of extremists. Name one non Muslim extremist and you can think of 4 muslim ones. Taliban, Osmana Bin Laden, Kashmir, karachi, Bosnia, Gulf war, Chechnya, all have left a deep negative impression on the rest of the world , this coupled with the resentment that the gulf countries( incidently islamic) control the oil and the oil prices have evoked a general discontent and mistrust for muslims. When you say racism in usa against Pakistanis it is because the pakistani community is large and visible. So any act of aggression will induce resentment . Think of the americans. An average american will think that his country is providing a home for the pakistanis , indians etc , at the cost of providing jobs for the local americans. and the acts of bombing us embassies will naturally bring about great anger and the only target he will find is the happy prosperous pakistani next door.

But the show must go on.... tell me when was the last time you forgave and forgot a kafir who harmed or betrayed you?

Extremism lies in all countries and religions , its only that Muslim Extremists are, lets say, less diplomatic than the other aggressors.

Thanks for hearing me out

Rudra

Religion was created by man.....but dont forget......man was created by God.... Allah Ho Akhbar, Halleluiah, Jay Dev..... all are salutations to the Great One....

Although this is a great discussion, it's straying from the original topic.

Can we please move it to a more apropiate forum, and then carry on?

I was reading a article in USA today, i will post the date when i will confirm it. There are 5 times less terrorist attacks in Muslim country then Christian countries. Most of the terrorist attacks happen in South America and then Ireland. but no one even know about them its all a propaganda.

Pakistani are disliked everywhere. In fact, I'm positive that we're the most disliked group in the world.

Do you think people just woke up one day and decided: "I hate Pakis"? No! The reputation was earned. Pakistani are the most fanatical of all Muslims. The people of Lebanon, Syria, and North African immigrants for the most part tend to blend in better with local populations in the UK and America. Pakistani are prone to cling to archaic traditions more so than other Muslims.

In Canada for example, Persians for example tend to blend in very well with Greeks and Italians. They have a totally different religion, but in Canada you can barely tell the groups apart. Besides the fact that Persians look similar to southern Europeans, they integrate with them. Their children dress similar, talk and act, intermarry with Christians, go to clubs, etc... The same can be said of Lebanese. I know a tons of Lebanese and Syrian Muslims who are best friends with Greeks and Italians. I can't say the same about Pakistani. We isolate ourselves from the world and sometimes expect westerners to bend to us. We tend to have an angry view of the world and our kids are not doing very well at the moment. Why is it that we're the primary Muslim group (Pakistani Muslims that is) that is more hated than any other? Why do Americans not hate Lebanese, Syrians, Moroccans, Jordanians, Egyptians? Believe me, they don't. I travel for a living, I have lived in the U.S. for 14 years, Canada (Toronto) for 10 years and various parts of the UK for 6 years. I can tell you that no group is more disliked than ours. It's a shame, but we brought it onto ourselves.

As a Pakistani, I find our younger generation in the UK in particular are arrogant and dangerous. Not so much in Canada and the U.S. but the problem in the UK is very ugly. We act like we're in a different world over there.

Sunni and Shia Muslims are inherently violent, we all know that. The Ahmadiyya community in the UK isn't so bad...(I'm Sunni so relax)...we should learn from this group perhaps. What are they doing that the Sunni and Shia Muslims are not?

Re: WHY DO PEOPLE HATE PAKISTANIS

^ Of all the posts and threads, you managed to dig an eight years old thread to post your first message in the forums :smack:

WoW… Welcome to Gupshup and you have set the mark :hehe:

neera its kind of funny and sad that you say this because america is a country made up exclusively of immigrants. the majority of americans, no matter hat their heritage are accepting of anyone hether pakistani or other. but something that ive seen more than a couple of times, is that pakistanis are much more inclined to isolate themselves and keep to those like themselves, to the point of not even mixing meeting or socializing ith those of different faith, culture or ethnic origin. that can never make things better. and can do much more harm than good i mean most american are not familiar ith islaam yet if they had some good muslims to sho them hat its really about then theyd be so much more accepting.
as far as your comments about being more educated, you are talking about the minority of pakistani elite...i mean if the majority of pakistanis ere that much more educated than the majority of americans, then i dont think that pakistan ould be among the poorest of countries hile america remains among the richest....you dont educate your poor hile america does. hen you talk about ho you live better lives in pak, are you talking about the majority of pakistanis....i dont think so because the majority of pakistanis live in abject poverty. but that has no bearing on the issue at hand .... that being... hy the discrimination. discrimination invariably happens due to ignorance. the anser is education. once people kno true islaam and have met true beleivers, i am uite sure that the problem ill begin to fade.

so sorry about the typing here, my double u key and caps lock key are broken thanks to littleguy lol.

Re: WHY DO PEOPLE HATE PAKISTANIS

This thread is nonsense. Some people are racist, but its a small minority of people. In many places Pakistanis/Arabs/Muslim types dont help themselves by being so insular and un-integrated. I think most people are pretty much ok...certainly of our generation.

I have lived my whole life with these people, from day 1 to now, and only once can I recall being the victim of so much as a verbal abuse based on my color.
