I knew mem sahib and sadi sobi and they are hater of nobody other then posts lacking in clarity and purpose. Why to put in cafe first of all? Second posh houses, cars and we all for Islam did seem that wasi was showing off. And what really pisses me is this that wasi said Mirpuris want independent Kashmir.

no im not wasi, and i must admit i didnt read the whole thread or the whole post (:)) but you can see what the guy was defending early on in the first post. the type of criticism thrown at the patwari community is absurd.
my point is not to prove that pakistanis hate mirpuris. they dont. however, there is some anti mirpuri sentiment here, there and everywhere including from those who are actually 'mirpuris' themselves. its as ridiculous as an azad kashmiri talking about independence.
when the original 'mangla dam' was built the entire population of old purana mirpur was resettled into the rest of azad kashmir and throughout punjab. as an example, majority of areas sorrounding khushab are ex mirpuris who even now retain their language (language known as mirpuri, pahari, potohari, patwari etc). this resetlement plan consisted of allowcating plots of land to the deposed mirpuris of purana mirpur throughout northern/central pakistan, this was of course unpopular with the local folk who had an eye on these plots themselves.
purana mirpur was located on the edge of what is now mangla dam close to chakswari on the eastern side of the dam. some houses, mosques, gurdwaras can still be seen of the old town when the water gets low enough.
the current backbiting against mirpuris is a complex issue because of all thats happenned in the uk but i wouldnt say other pakistanis 'hate' mirpuris. they just talk ill of us. mirpuris are no different to other pakistanis but the term 'mirpuris' gets used to describe certain events which pakistanis including mirpuris, punjabis and pathans take part in.
the list of people willing to talk about mirpuris in a negtive way include people who reside about 1 mile (ONE MILE) outside of mirpur town. these people are themselves classed as mirpuri by everyone else. ive even heard my dad talk ill of mirpuris and they herald from about 5 miles outside of new mirpur, is from purana mirpur, has familly in mirpur and speaks the same dialect. i consider myself mirpuri
some conservative punjabi/pathan women 'hate' mirpuris because mirpuri women do feshion. feshiony punjabis/pathan women hate mirpuris because mirpuris dont do feshion.
some religious pathans 'hate' all punjabis/mirpuris under the mirpuri banner because they arnt religious enough, vice versa, etc etc
i just read wat that mem sahib woman said that mirpuris are show off, i feel it was wrong of her to say that, as it depends on the individuals not all. it also seemed that wasi was showing off, but i think he was trying to prove a point, but im not sure it was nessasery. on the whole i think their must be a issue as this subject keeps coming up, but at the end of the day we are all muslims first then pakistanis or mirpuris.
I do not see the point of running this thread anymore. The thread was initially opened in Pak Show Biz forum and we brought in here to see/rebuttle the arguments and come to a common resolution and gather point of views.
Personally, as a moderator, I did not want to post my point of view. As a member, I do not agree with the premises of the thread.
While we had some relevant and logical answers to the concern, we also see sad episodes of going out of topic where people indulged in dissing the national language. I agree with Arjay that such sentiments do remind us about East Pakistan; even if people like us who were not born at that time, at least from what we have learned through the study and research!
The Thread is being locked because it has lost everything from now on. I do not see any point on beating about the bush. Pakistanies do not hate Kashmiries…
Who hate what can be seen from various replies, I do not have to pin point.
