Re: Why do Pakistan women dress like Arabs in America?
Since when does wearing a relic of Afghan culture necessary to "please Allah swt"?
Relic of Afghan culture? Hardly. Some of the Sahaba were of the opinion that a woman has to cover her face as well.
Abdullah bin Masud (R.A) had that opinion, as did Imam Shafi, Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal and even the Hanafi ulema.
The burqa/niqab combo is just one way of doing it. Therefore if they are following that order, then of course Allah will be pleased with them, provided they are sincere about it.

Are you dumb? Maybe I'm giving you too much credit for backward-minded folk like you.

Dumb? Dumb would be the one who doesn't address the challenges to his claims, and then resorts to name calling.
Re: Why do Pakistan women dress like Arabs in America?
One thing I have observed Pakistanis love Saudi Arabia, the land. Saudi is a source of inspiration for many Pakistanis
And?
Apne kaam se kaam rakhen, who we hate or love, or what we wear is not an Indians' bussiness.
PS. All the South-Asian fashion magz which feature ladies' Arab-style dresses/kaftans are actually Indian not Paki, anyway who cares they are just long dresses.
I think those long kaftan dresses look quite elegant, certainly more decent than Saaris.
I admit I'm not a fan of the black-outerwear that some Paki women wear, I think they could still cover everything with something that doesn't stand out so much..
Re: Why do Pakistan women dress like Arabs in America?
Before you Indians complain about what Pakis wear, you should all go back to wearing saaris (cocoons) and dhotis (sarongs) because sewn clothing like Shalwar-Kameez, Sherwani (from which Jodhpuri was derived), Turbans etc. were introduced to you by Muslim Persians, Arabs, Turks and Afghans.

Re: Why do Pakistan women dress like Arabs in America?
And you know what's MORE? It's not even IN the Quran. ** The Quran tells you to cover your ornaments, it tells you to cover your breasts**. Beyond that it says nothing else. You people have added in these meanings, so that you can say, "Um, no, no other dress than this jilbaab will do" - Nowhere does it talk about the STYLE of dress. It just says what you need to cover. You can be as creative as you want to be with your clothes, as long as you cover what needs to be covered. People aren't jaahil - they don't walk around wearing thong bikinis on the street, and YOU need to start respecting people for not choosing to dress like YOU do. That's intolerant, and you know what? That's NOT acceptable in Islam.
Bhari aati hai yahan telling us what the Quran told us and did not as if we can't figure that out for ourselves.
It is the Sunnah to display your ornaments on Eid.
