why do the jews not take dairy with meat? their burgers only have chicken and no mayo or other dairy? does anyone know the reason behind it. thanks.

According to a rule called kashrus (comes from the Hebrew root Kaf-Shin-Resh, meaning fit, proper or correct. It is the same root as the more commonly known word "kosher”), prohibits Jews to mix meat and dairy products.

In Exodus 23v19b it is written "Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk."
Could be orthodox Jews prefer to keep all meat and milk seperate to prevent above regulation as they don't know where the dairy products came from.

yes quite… i was speaking to a jewish friend not so long ago on this and he said something similar, but he said it was Torah rather then Exodus. Anyho the Oral Torah prohibits eating meat and dairy together and prohibited to include not eating milk and poultry together. the Talmud prohibits cooking meat and fish together or serving them on the same plates, because it is considered to be unhealthy.

The Christian book in the Old Testament “Exodus” is called by Jews “We’elleh shemoth” after the first words in the book “These are the names…”

The reason is the same for many things for Muslims, God told them to and it pleases him.
I don't believe it was a goat, it was do not eat the young calf in it's mother's milk. Thus the interpretation is to separate dairy and meats.

After reading the Bible, it seems to me that there are hundreds of rituals mentioned in the Torah, that Prophet Moses gave to the Israelites to allow them to demonstrate obedience to God, after the Israelites desplayed disobedience to God during the Exodus from Egypt. These rituals didnt exist among the Israelites prior to Moses. They were prophesised to end after a new covenant was establishet. The prophet Jeremiah prophesized that eventually God would end these rituals and write the law in the hearts of men and that the new practice of worship would be so different it wouldnt be recognized by those who practice the Mosaic rituals, except in spirit. This is why Christians can find justification for not obeying the rituals of the Mosaic law and Islam can find justification for practices that are different than those found written under the Mosaic law, paving the way for religious Jews to convert to Christianity and Islam. The God of the Bible doesnt explain why he wanted the Israelites to follow them beyond commanding them to demonstrate their blind loyalty to God. However, those rituals for which there are explainations given in the OT (Torah) or which were prophesised in the OT were established by our prophet Mohammad for his ummah.

No, I'm not, I'm being sincere, this has been a very civil and well thought out thread with people providing answers backed by evidence, not just hearsay. I hope we see more of this in the future.
