Dude, its great that your father benefited from reservation and got into the IFS. I am guessing that you had a pretty privilged life and access to good schools etc.
However, if you wanted to get admission in IIT, you would still get the benefit of reservation based on your last name/caste. Ever thought what kind of stupid logic that is.
How has your upbringing been any different than that of an “upper caste” ? Infact, you have probably grown up in a much more affluent background than a poor brahmin (upper caste) who does pujas at people’s homes to support his family. But you get the reservation and he does not
My upbringing has always been upper middle class and Yes, if I was in India I would have definitely used reservations because it is my right under the Indian constitution.
