My ex brother in law wanted to get married to my sister but his mother did not agree. It took him several years to convince her and they got married at last. My sister's MIL made her life so miserable that they are not together anymore. In our community we do not just marry the guy but it is the whole family. I will advise you to walk away from this relationship.
