Re: Why do girls/women continue to live in illusion?
Yes. I agree with your assesment of someone being a player.
I was asking what are the excuses a player might use to get the relationship going so the player keeps getting the ‘benefit’.

Re: Why do girls/women continue to live in illusion?
^possibly continuing to make fake promises of undying love and being together for a lifetime as in marriage, pretending to play the role of an innocent guy in love(yea right
)
but they have absolutely no desire of getting “chained down”.
oh and what’s the difference between a player and someone that is genuine but is just scared of commitment and has cold feet in terms of marriage.
Re: Why do girls/women continue to live in illusion?
Yes.
Scared? Really?
Why even be in relationship then?
Re: Why do girls/women continue to live in illusion?
I don't think it has to do with being a man or a woman. Any human being who is emotionally attached to a certain thing or person gets hurt if he/she loses it. very basic human nature.

there was line in a movie, can't remember the name but "you need a witness to your life" was the line, in the form of a lover, significant other, wife, husband. somebody whose life was affected by you in a positive way
people need companionship so maybe that's why they're in a relationship of course or else life just passes by. but they might be scared of divorce or one of those marriages that are like the couple in "war of the roses"
loneliness can be harsh but.....i would prefer single-hood to an abusive jerk that emotionally tortures any day.
Re: Why do girls/women continue to live in illusion?
^ agree! I think if you see ANY RED signs (can’t be fixed) in the beginning of your relationship…better get out of it before things get too involved. He/She will most likely not change.
…women play just as well as men.
how about we just stop playing the stoooooopid games… doesn’t get us anywhere
Re: Why do girls/women continue to live in illusion?
Yes.
I did not mean to say, companionship is bad or singlehood is better.
I commented on someone who is afraid of commitment and not wanting to marry. Then the relationship like that should not continue. What you are seemingly advocating is companionship without the vision of being married later. That brings a lot of issues, since one party may still expect some end result as marriage.
Not everyone is so smart.
