why do asian girls bleach rather than wax…do not asian girls understand that ur upper lip or facial hair when bleached looks worse than not doing anything at all. I can understand if your white or very very fair becuase then it does not show up but on most desi girls the bleached hair stands a mile out…and it does not look nice. Im sure UK readers can remember that Goodness Gracious Me episode where the guy ask thats girl ‘ow come u got black hair but a blonde moustache’…
I quite agree and have tried to say this exact thing in such a way as to discourage bleaching....I mean all it does is give you a white moustache rather than black - makes you look like an OLD hairy woman rather than just a hairy woman. Yup, yanking hurts but life aint fair.
Maybe bcos there are stories that when some ppl wax their face the hair comes back darker and/or thicker and they don’t want a rash on their face if they have sensitive skin…plus, some ppl say that waxing eventually sags ur skin, due to all the pulling…or maybe it’s just too painful! But i agree, if u have darker skin then it looks strange…LOL, lots of ppl laugh at the situation like in Goodness Gracious Me, cos the hair on the head is black and the hair on face or body is blonde…but some ppl are actually born like that…my little brother has black hair, eyebrows and eyelashes but the hair on his arms and legs is blondish haha! Girls in my family who have fair skin, we just bleach…but my cousins who have dark skin i think they wax or leave it as cos i guess they don’t have too much…lucky them:blush:
I approached a sikh lady once because she had the most beautiful long healthy hair. I asked her what se used, etc. And, she replied, "oh, i don't use anything, they are long because i have never had them cut since birth." They are allowed a 1 inch trimming every 3 months. But, it is disgusting when you think about not removing hair from the rest of your body.
i stopped bleaching awhile back just cuz it irritated my skin to much and i had to do it too often ..i started waxing it awhile back and i already see the diff (its going away)..my skins super sensitive..so i have to do it abt a week before whereever i have to go ..so the redness and post-wax "daaney" go away.
:D i have seen aunty wearing a nice dress with hairy legs.. that was gross.....
I don't know whats wrong with people..... do laser get them removed for good. I don't do my upper lips for good 1 month cause i let laser do the work. Uff i remember the time when i wasnt doing laser i would have to do threading atleast once a week....
I go to this paki lady to get my face and neck bleached. She does a very good job. I never turn blonde and my skin turns out to be really nice.
She used to have this bleach that was bluish green in color. I dont know where she got that from but it was much better than the regular ones and the result was just as good off course.
I went for a laser consultation once, but i decided not to go thru with it as soon as they told me they wud have to shave my face before every treatment! …And ur saying that u still do ur upper lip, just not as often rite? So i duno, it doesn’t seem worth it to me, cos wot if it doesn’t work out and i have stubble all over u know…i’ll stick to bleaching and threading haha…
Oh ok, actually i used to think not allowing to remove hair was only for guys and then a sikh girl told me otherwise…i thought it was nasty but i respect her faith anyway like she respects mine…
**sadya…**LOL! I know they don’t cos unfortunately u can see the hair on their legs and underarms, some don’t even hide it!
Yes, we once had customers in the shop (my parents sell cloth). My Mom told me they were gypsies. One of those ladies had a sleeveless dress. When she lifted her arm to feel a piece of cloth hanging on the wall, I noticed a huge bouquet of curly hair on hanging on her armpit.
