well the whole basis for Christianity is the crucifixion. It is the foundation of Christain Theology. The idea behind this is that Jesus(as) died for our sins, so we don't have to work in life, and we can live however we want to live. We just have to believe Jesus as the saviour and that's all. That is why it is paid so much attention. The idea behind this is to remove the responsibility from the human being, so he/she can live a "free" life. That is why Christianity is so appleaing cause you can do whatever you want.

Not fully correct, Imran.
The basis of Christianity is not the crucifixion, but rather the fact that Jesus Christ came alive again after 3 days. The crucifixion was only an end to what actually needed to happened - Jesus' victory over death.
You can only really become a Christian by being born again by the influence of the Spirit of God Almighty. Once a Christian, this Holy Spirit teach and guide you as to what God wants you to do or not to do. Other Christians and the Bible helps you on your way to fully understand the will of God.
Christians are relieved from the reward of sin because of Jesus' resurrection but will remain sinners till they die. If a Christian sins knowingly, there is then no relieve available for him - he is as guilty as the unbeliever. All Christians need to do good works as required by God. All Christians will one day be judged according to what they did in this world.
