now something happens in Guineas. first their leader of 25 years dies. mind you, this guy was so “popular” he had 95% approval rating. havent we seen that in pakistan?
and then this new person comes in. and first he says that he will conduct the elections in 60 days. and later extends that time period into two years. i am not optimistic those elections will happen after that. hadnt ZiaulHaq extended his ninety days into eleven years.
so why do all the coups have the same characteristics?

Musharraf and Zia, as their referendums "proved"
Re: why do all the coups look same?
"Might is right"
The person who coup is strong (and has strong backing). Good / Bad intentions comes secondary , but once you have power and confidence. Why would you trust anyone else to take your place? Especially - considering the fact that it only happens in third world country where the political system is not any better than coup.
Pakistan has historically done much more development in the times of coups as compared to democracy.
Democracy brings out the collective opinions (of majority). If majority is illiterate / fuedal minded ... What do you think will happen?
