Why did you choose to have kids? Did you know you would be a good parent?
Re: Why did you choose to have kids?
Oooooo.
Don’t you know Pakistanis don’t tend to CHOOSE anything in life. We have to do as told. We have to be married by a certain age and if we are.not married by that age„ it tends to give our elders major or minor heart attacks.
And god forbid u decide NOT to have kids. No no noooooo you WILL have kids whether you want them or not.
Re: Why did you choose to have kids?
We chose to start a family because it felt like a natural progression in our relationship. My husband was more ‘eager’ to get started than I was as I was petrified of parenthood.
Yes there is a ‘pressure’ from a lot of aunties and family to start a family and yes God forbid you don’t concieve within the first year (which I didn’t!) it causes gossip as well as interferring and unwanted advice on how to get pregnant.
We now have a toddler MashAllah who is nearly 2 & 1/2 and we are expecting our second InshAllah around Ramadan. I feel much more relaxed about baby number 2 even though I am having more medical complications this time round.

Hi, you are right, I got married when I went to visit Pakistan and I didn’t even know I will get married. And when i came back, i found out that I am pregnant. Even now when I am a mom and I still think I really don’t know my husband much. Sometime I feel he is a stranger.
