I’m illiterate when it comes to understanding pakistani politics and therefore need you guys to clear some points.

  • Why was Parvez Musharraf deemed not good enough for the people of Pakistan? Why was he forced to resign from his post as President?

  • What is it that majority of Pakistanis loved about the Bhuttos or the PPP, what did they do for Pakistan and reason for them to be allowed back into parliment?

  • What happened about the Corruption Charges against the Bhuttos on their return to Pakistan?

People gave solidary votes to PPL as Benezir had just been killed. The People of pakistn thought that the chairman of the party, Faeem something would become the president, but thats when the B.. Zardari took over and kicked him aside and took over.

Because, the west had realized Musharraf was increasingly unpopular amongst the masses, and could no longer be a good puppet. They needed a new one, who would be more acceptable to the people, and keep the military and intelligence in check. They opted for Benazir, but we know what happened. After that, Zardari was their best choice, and this time its not just a one man show, many shameless parties are backing Zardari, as per the 'mil kar khayo' clause in their power sharing deal.

People didnt elect Zardari, according to a new Pew report, his popularity is less than 8%, an allllllll time low, even lower than what it was during BB's second stint of power right after Murtaza was shot dead.

Good questions but you can't expect any reasonable answers from people who keep banging their heads on the wall and keep crying about it.

Let these people make wrong choices and suffer.

Pakistani people were stupid, they still are.

I remember when I was in Pakistan before the election times, people were like: "OMG Zardari has changed, he will lead us..."

and I was like: WTF ............!

President of Pakistan is elected by a joint session of all assemblies and **not **by the direct vote of the eligible voters…

PS: I think…after the 18th amendment…the President of Pakistan is more of a symbolic value…so the Executive is the Prime Minister of Pakiistan… :smiley: :jhanda:

People are desperate, they want change without knowing where that change may lead them. We switch back and forth between democracy and dictatorship and each change is celebrated by our people by doing dhammal, distributing mithai, doing namaaz-e-shukrana, chanting slogans and what not and after 8 months, they want the change again.
