Why did He

Ok here’s the story.. I have an 18 years oldcousin who is rather naive who just went to Holland for studies (from Pak)… now in the whole damned place there are only4/5 desi guys and all kiddo’s. On their orientation they met a professor who was addressing their group and the professor said to 'em “All Pakisatnis are Ba$tards”. They were speechless and din’t even know what to say in return… if I were there I would have taught him a good lesson however, these guys were at a loss as to what they should do. And the stupid guys didn’t even go and complaint to the Uni President after it happened, infact they told us a couple of weeks after it happened. A university is the last place where I EXPECT such racial comments to be passed especially by professors. Is it right for us then to assume that all Goras are Ba$tards? if so then what kind of a world are we talking about?

Re: Why did He

It sounds like your cousin must be going to a pretty third rate university if the professor has his facts so tied up. Given the much lower tolerance for having children out of wedlock in Pakistan compared to Holland, I'm reasonable certain that there are a lot more Dutch ba$tards in this world than Pakistani ba$tards.

The liberality of Dutch society make Dutch people much more likely to be ba$tards than Pakistanis. For a professor to make such a simple mistake is deeply disappointing.

Re: Why did He

^Well should professors really be making such comments.

Re: Why did He

Somebody post the professors email add, MYwish ask your cousin for it and post it here, I'm sure many people would like to vent.

Re: Why did He

He was afraid! Unfortunately not many of them back home have leared to fight for what they believe in. Yeah! They taught them to protest in front of schools and colleges if it has something to do banning dance parties in schools or making boys and girls school seperate.

But when you are not exposed to other religions and other cultures you will not be able to stand up for yourself- and identify yourself as being you.

As far as from professor's side - its a human nature when we see someone weaker then us we like to abuse them. He found your cousin weak so he said it. And guess what he will say it again if your cousin doesnt say something.

Re: Why did He

This topic was discussed a few days ago in Cafe :halo:
and the verdict was that the islamic education in its current form is the best. The Religious personalities and scholars that we have right now in Pakistan and the rest of the muslim world are PERFECT, so no need to learn anything new or get exposure to whats happening in the outside world :grumpy:

Niaz Khan , you are absolutely right. Unless one learns to fight for what one belives in, one will remain an easy target for everyone and easily bullied.
