[font=‘Times New Roman’]Well known columnist Ardeshir Cowasjee in his column of 10.7.2004 describes how Horiticulture Society in Karachi got a plot for botanical garden. Its lease was later cancelled. The court termed this cancellation illegal. This month when City Nazim was to lay the foundation stone for the garden, some goonadas with arms came and occupied the land that it was their. Mr. Ardeshir in his column says “on July 4, I met the Commander 5 Corps Lt. General Syed Athar Ali in his office and handed over to him a letter seeking protection”. The government as per General Musharraf is Democratic. US has put a seal of authentication on it. Then how it is that Ardeshir in this authenticated democracy instead of going to democratic elected Chief Minister, or some other Minister or Inspector General Police went to Military Core Commander. Can anyone remove this puzzle. I am a student of M.A. Political Science in Karachi.
