^^ McCain is a moderate Republican and there is no way evangelical Christians of Red America are voting for him. Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups. Results of 2004 elections is a good example of this.

AS, that is your opinion, however, I disagree. He is exactly what George Bush said he will be "compassionate conservative". He can really bring this nation/parties together. He has the respect of the democrat senators...most importantly he is media friendly. He has appeared on Jon Stewart's Daily Show (on Comedy Network) a number of times...that show is most popular show in the age group of 18-34.....which means he is getting his message across to the young folks.... He is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Don’t take me wrong. I would like to see him on Republican ticket too but unfortunately he does not fit the description of “compassionate conservative”. Democrats like him because of his moderate views. People choose Bush over McCain in 2000 primaries because Bush suited well with Republicans’ criteria of compassionate conservative.
