Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

These peace neogitations are a joke. Pakistan made a peace deal with these animals in 2009 and these guys took over SWAT.

Only killing these animals is the answer.

If Pakistan Army is too scared to do it, then I don't mind US Drones in taking out these animals.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

It’s okay for mighty imperial powers like Great Britain, USSR and USA plus NATO allies try their best efforts and still put their hands up and admit we could never ‘defeat’ a tribal resistance but somehow it’s a cardinal sin for a weak third world country like Pakistan to admit this fact? What’s up Pakistanis and their false sense of superior complex? It’s about saving lives not prolonging an unwinnable bloody conflict for sake of pleasing an inflated ego.

As with your empty rhetoric about you negotiate with nations and not terrorists, yes I guess it’s easy to make such fancy claims when you are sitting in cosy and peaceful West where you don’t have to worry about that your son might go to a busy bazaar in a broad day light and may never come back home alive in one piece. So if stopping violence is admitting a defeat so be it! If asking for peace after decade of extreme violence is admitting defeat, so be it. Peace may be a dirty word for people living in the West but for Pakistanis it isn’t and ultimately its them who decide what they want.

But I guess you are right in a sense that how shameless and pathetic of US to put peace talks on the table to begin with and openly asking countries like Pakistan to fully co-operate in their dirty little mission. If it wasn’t for ‘spineless’ and ‘defeated’ US who legitimatized peace talks with terrorists, who knows, Pakistan may still be showing some enthusiasm to fight this bloody war for another 10 years.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

I did not know that Terrorism has got a new name in 'tribal resistance'. Good one.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

Yes indeed in a military context, that type of fighting would essentially be classified as tribal resistance. Of course the actual title of terrorism still remains.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

Peace is not a dirty word, but the question is peace at what cost? Honestly, tell me do you want to live under Taliban rule? How would you like if Taliban vice and virtue police beats your women in a bazaar because their ankles were showing? How about vice and virtue police measuring your beard to see if it meets their version of Sharia? Would you like to see them turn cricket stadiums into execution grounds for their political opponents, adulterers or anyone who does not agree with their version of Islam? Or how about when you wake up and lookout to see headless corpses hanging from lampposts? Or how about no education of women? Do you seriously NOT see anything wrong with this picture?

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

At the cost of stopping the violence maybe?

And please go easy with your imagination, none of this melodramatic and paranoid rhetoric for now. So far not a single official or formal meeting has taken place between Taliban or Pakistan, where both parties could put forward their demands and have a go at negotiating a reasonable way out. Ironically such meeting was supposed to take place yesterday with Mehsud but look what happened, Pakistan back to square one eh?

My question is how can some people despite being in total dark where they have absolutely zero, ZERO idea what negotiating terms their country is going with and how they'll tackle some of enemies' demands or what answers, questions, suggestions, threats, demands of their own they'll put forward and how? All that brouhaha is based what mere speculations and flimsy imagination? What knowledge do you have about Pakistan's peace policies and the ways they'll push their agenda? At one hand you think Pakistan army certainly can and will eventually eliminate Taliban and on the other you have this funny little belief that somehow they'll attend few hours long meeting for a single day and hand over Pakistan to Taliban? Seriously? That's it? Make your mind up about your own army first and tell me where they stand.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

Where was the utrage by these spineless Pakistani leaders (Ik and ch Nisar) when these animals not only killed but boasted about the death of a Pakistani General just before the start of the peace talks. Wasn't that sabotaging the talks, wasn't that a slap on the face of the Pakistanis. We must be the only nation mourning the death of our enemy number 1 and defending this pig.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

LOL selective memory or just total lack of knowledge? Is that why two days after the killing of General, Kiyani makes on the record statement that peace talks should be a given a chance? IK or Ch.Nisar are democrats but what excuse Gen Kiyani has for not uttering any condemnation or mourning the killing of his general?

Stop defaming the Pakistani nation and stop spreading false rumours. It's disgusting and totally unacceptable. Pakistanis are angry at the delay in peace talks and America's stab in the back. No one is mourning a terrorist but dreading a whole new wave of revenge attacks in an always targeted month of Muharram.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

When you cant engage in constructive arguments you do what you do best, engage in personal attacks. Pathetic.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

No, I was not trying to be melodramatic, but trying to point out what life would be under Taliban rule. You did not answered single question as if it was all figment of my imagination, and these things would never happen under Taliban rule…except of course, we have seen this horror movie before.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

It's very easy to raise a flag about non existing personal attack when you have no answer to a perfectly valid question.

My comments were strictly for the content of your post, not yourself. Perhaps now you can spare few more insults for our COAS and explain what reasons does he have for not condemning the Taliban and mourn the death of his general? Why would the military still support peace talks despite attacks on their HQ and killing of their men? Why would he still support peace talks two days after the death of his General?

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

No still melodramatic for thinking that Pakistani army is all geared up to hand over the country to Taliban. LOL Tut tut tut, poor army. Does anyone have an ounce of faith in them?

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

So you consider selective memory, lack of knowledge, defaming the nation, spreading false rumours as not becoming personal.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

Believe whatever you believe in, but if people with you mindset have it their ways, its only matter of time before Taliban takeover the country. And, likes of IK, who are doing politics in Pakistan with their families safely in evil west will flee to same countries for refuge, too.

Errr no. I didn't call you any names or directly posed any insult. Whatever I have said are merely comments on the content of your post. Not treating this site as Guardian but I am sure little bit of freedom of expression is also appreciated here.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

Man Taliban were supposed to take over in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013,…goodness is there any end to this fear mongering crap?

Yeah you are right, so far its the likes of IK who are standing in thee kitchen and facing the heat, risking everything from his life to political career and future of his party. We’ll talk when the brave arm chair critics from America and Britain fly into Pakistan to fight a jihad against Taliban, okay? Coz handful of Pakistani Brits and Americans are the only enlightened folks who know how to fight and win this war but not Pakistani military, intelligence, gov or the entire international community with 13 years of warfare experience under their belt. Right?

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

The death of the General was claimed by Swati Taleban (Fazlullah group) which is based in Eastern Afghanistan (Kunar/Nuristan etc). Thats the issue I dont understand, how are those taleban groups functioning freely? The groups based out of Afghanistan don't want to do anything with the peace talks.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

With afghan taliban issuing statement on death of hakim ullah , i dont think it is good for pakistan.

Afghan taliban are now standing against pakistanis, those who are not living in pakistan may rejoice the win of their adopted nations but pakistan has lost a person who was willing to negotiate. Blood thirsty killers of both side will now be killing civilians of pakistan. (yes those killed in FATA are also humans/civilians).

I for the first time has felt soft corner for hakim ullah mehsud when he is dead. Time for ulema to take a clear stance now.

Innalilah

What i have heard about this umer khalid (the new expected eader of TTP) is not that good. May ALLAH save us from fitna of selling/killing /bombing the nation for petty dollars/ and for jahils doing fissad in guise of jihad without having any ILM.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

Who knows maybe next year is the year when your dream will comes true.

Re: Why cry over the death of our worst enemy?

This scumbag was involved in tens of thousands of killings in Pakistan.

Good riddance.

As for peace talks how can you have peace talks with people who wants to carve out areas in our country and run it as they like? If we are going to bend down then we may as well signal a greenlight to any nutter of an extreme group to start blackmailing the gov till they get what they want!
