Re: Why cricket is being played in series ?
Football is played by 210 countries world wide, where as cricket is played in only 10% of those countries.
and do you know why
because there are so much international matches that people think that playing for domestic
is not a career, useless
national team players hardly play in domestic until thrown out of team due to non performance
decrease international matches , give more importance to professional cricket so that players from other countries can come and play and improve their game
and as a result they will improve

In cricket there is a standard its called ICC membership. As an ICC associate country, you are helped by ICC with performance coaching and exposure to play with other associates. When you raise your game and beat all other associates, you climb up the ranking and are entitled to play in World Cup. Thats your chance to have yourself recognized on World stage and you can do it by beating atleast the weakest member teams or teams like India and Pakistan to get overnight fame:p NZ, SL, Zimb, BD are an example of associates getting membership and doing really well in last 3 decades or so. Ireland and Kenya are the teams that has done upsets in recent times.

this is why because ICC is run by most non professional people
have you ever learn such type of stupidity in football
let say Pakistan play football with top 10 teams that might never happen in near future , from which margin will they lost
15-0 or more
still they are member of fifa
second look at football worldcup , even brazil , england , italy have to play qualifier
no direct entry
why this not happen in cricket, why direct entry to worldcup
in football , no one say that you will beat , italy , england or brazil then you will get entry , otherwise not
this is all rubbish

Cricket's records are kept in many ways and series stats are as important as tournaments and head to head comparision.

just a lame excuse
it is better to promote professional cricket and play only friendlies
