The world of music has come of ages.The latest sophisticated instruments we have are capable of doing anything in our minds.But still we have just handful of legends and they have not garnered legendary status as these people. What could be the reason? Or the songs created y the Neo maestros are just minimal in numbers where as the above mentioned legends are still alive in our hearts and minds…

The sophisticated instruments would act as a cover up. I am a fan of neither of the two you mentioned. What i always want is good lyrics and melodious composition? Where are the golden brains for that?

The age you are referring to had thousands of musicians and singers and only a handful 'survived'. This age, again, we'll have thousands of musicians and singers and coming generations would pick only a few 'greats' out of those. I believe we do have 'greats' now as well, only that they will be 'recognized' later.
