Why Can't People have what they rightly deserve?

I was just reading a post about “Bridge ke doosre taraf”…the one about the division of areas in KHI that divide the “poor” and “the rich”…I myself am from a middle-class , educated mohajir family…a couin lives in Defence but thats it and I have something against the stereotypes that people perpetuate against others that may be better off in society…What’s wrong with going to expensive co-ed schools, and speaking in English and wearing jeans to expensive malls???
The ppl in Defence etc, have earned the money that they spend! Should they have to suffer outrageous comments about how “Defence ki ladkiyan to…wink wink” just because they’re parents faced the grind of life and culture to be where they are now??? Should they be blamed for bieng comfortable when the rest of the city loses electricity, just becase they earn enough to get power from a reliable source??? Why do they ahve to be called burgers if they want to branch out and they truly enjoy western culture!? If we want our society to remain stagnant, and if we hold grudges against people who refuse to be stagnant then we’ll never advance as we deserve to. No one notices that the rich man in Clifton who owns 3 factories employs a hundred people in each factory…Agar un ke badey bunglay hotey hien to un banglo mein naukar apni rozi roti kama rahe hotey hein…agar un ke drivers hein to unki wajeh se woh drivers apney bacchon ko school bhej saktey hein…
Sum1 give me a reason to excuse this bias against the rich because this is all I’m asking:
Why can’t they enjoy what they deserve to afford?

good post, will have a response later today.

There is a big difference between rich and being rich in such means that others start to raise their fingers at you.
There is abs. nothing wrong with being rich, but in our society it is complicated. As you have mentioned, as the families in those areas get richer, the sense of islam has kind of rooted out.
The reasons many question the rich is because most of the population is still keeping hold of the islamic values, which contradict with the actions of the new westeren styles of the rich.

And secondly us Pakistanis are known to pull each others legs, we can't bare to see our neighbors happy if we ourselves are sad.

so let me ask you, if you are rich why do you have to adapt to western cultures? You can be rich and still live a life that is within the bounds; but rather most of the rich dont follow that.

What has Islam got to do with it? If its a parsi or a christian family that lives in Defence and is rolling in money (that they earned) why would anyone expect them to hold on to Islamic values.

These are two different things. Being a muslim or christian or hindu is one part of your life. And being rich or poor is another. Most people who poke fun at rich, redicule them or criticize them do it mostly out of a deep sense of jealousy, envy, greed and a good dose of a feeling of being cheated. People seldom want to take responsibility for their lives and want to find someone else to blame their problems on. And the rich are a convenient target as they are blamed for exploiting the poor. Everyone goes home happy.

kid’s grown up huh?

nice to hear these views tipzo, feeling proud

agree completely :k:

I have seen and been around wth many christians in Pakistan, some rich, some poor, and eventhough they are not muslims they act repsonsiably around others. That does not hold true for others, We have come to the realization that if we are rich we can do whatever we want. I do agree its envy and all those other things, but when someone targets someone it is not mainly out of their status but rather their actions.

I have something against the stereotypes that people perpetuate against others that may be better off in society....

good point, and that needs to be applied consistently.

*What's wrong with going to expensive co-ed schools, and speaking in English and wearing jeans to expensive malls??? *

Nothing, the problem only shows when some of these people treat others who are less fortunate than them as dirt.

*The ppl in Defence etc, have earned the money that they spend! *

many have, but there are those who are there due to illegal means. I would say its a minority, but it is there

*Why do they ahve to be called burgers if they want to branch out and they truly enjoy western culture!? *

branching out and enjoying is oen thing, but those who over do it are the ones that are a source of ridicule which then extrnds to the larger group they belong to.

No one notices that the rich man in Clifton who owns 3 factories employs a hundred people in each factory...Agar un ke badey bunglay hotey hien to un banglo mein naukar apni rozi roti kama rahe hotey hein...agar un ke drivers hein to unki wajeh se woh drivers apney bacchon ko school bhej saktey hein.....

right, i think some of the issue is teh disparity between the factory owner types and the workers. sorry but there are plenty of predatrory employment practices in pakistan..the guy employing 100 people is not doing some ehsaan on them, he needs thema s much as they need him, he needs their work, they need the pay. no need to put an ehsaan ka tokra just because he employs them.

Sum1 give me a reason to excuse this bias against the rich because this is all I'm asking:

reason coming in 3 seconds..

*Why can't they enjoy what they deserve to afford? *

They can enjoy what they can afford, but the new money types who act like complete asses get ridiculed..not that they dont ridicule those who dont meet their financial standards

this feeling of oh we are so much more pious then them is ridiculous..the defense types may be considered MTV ppl, but at the same time your landhi types are bollywood ppl, I dont see the "more islamic" factor there. i mean why do video stores in FB area, landi and shah faisal colony stock indian movies and howcome girls and guys know the songs and try to emulate their fav stars? hmmm

They dont like the "western" aspects teh rich have adopted, while not noticing the "bollywood" factors they have adopted themselves.

all the chichora pana that u see in bazaars is not really done by "burgers" and that chichora pana is not "islamic" is it?

so ppl have a problem with girls wearing jeans..but no issue with aunties wearing saari and blouses where the toond is sticking out?

*so let me ask you, if you are rich why do you have to adapt to western cultures? You can be rich and still live a life that is within the bounds; but rather most of the rich dont follow that. *

what would you consider "western culture"

mixed gatherings? dont tell me they dont have mixed mehndis and all all over the city?
clothing? whether u copy hugh jackman or salman khan, what is the real difference?

those who pint fingers at the rich and say oh they are so apoilt and so western should look in their own garebaan, and see how holy they are themselves.

By picking on some small subset of extremes from the defence crowd and using that as a stereotype for all there is all okay if we can also then take the lalu khait stereotype and apply it to everyone else.

In response to sum1 who said something about how the rich "forget their own culture" yadda yadda yadda ( i believe it was tipz, no offense i just dont remember the rest of it)....in my point was, what if someone genuinely enjoys Rap Music and baggy clothes and speaking in English all the time?? I love the English language, I wear "western" clothes at home and i enjoy rap as well. SHould I have to stifle my taste just because the rest of the world doesn't like it??? I can't have freedom of speech, expression and whatever else I want just because I'm in Pakistan???
Maybe it's just the patriotism speaking but I know my country and my people are better than that...
