According to the Quranic verse, Allah swt has forbidden entry into "mosque" not the city, right? But its Saudi govt. to extend it to the city. Does this ayat apply to both Mecca and Medina? or Just Mecca ? I think it only applies to Ka'ba (in Mecca).
I attended one of sermons, where the khateeb (speaker) was telling the story that long after Prophet Mohammed PBUH's departure, a few Jews came to Medina and lived close to the mosque, they secretly started to dig a tunnel to Prophet Mohammed PBUH's grave. In one of good man's dream Prophet PBUH indicated that his grave is in danger, he alerted govt. officials, who then search the surrounding areas and found new arrivals and arrested them for investigation who then revealed their plan to steal Prophet Mohammed PBUH's body and transfer it to some other place.
I just wanted to mention this incident so people will have some idea about "security". How far should the govt. go to protect from such incidents?
Re: “Why cant I enter?”
Munni is that the same qadiyani friend who asked you questions a fews weeks back??? ![]()

Long story short..two jews long long time back tried to dig Prophrt p.b.u.h's grave. The king at that time saw Prophet p.b.u.h in his dream (i dont remember the actual dream) and later he arrested those two jews ...after this incident non-muslims are not allowed to enter makkah and madina

Allah's house - HARAM - as the word implies is something where everything unaacceptable is prohibited. Whether it be the people or any action.
Why would Allah want to cater for those who don't believe in Him? If they are so keen to go inside why don't they make some effort and become a part of the people who are His followers.
Why would a non-muslim wana go inside it? Whats the point!! They don't even believe in Allah and they still want to go in.. thats so strange .. for them it shouldnt even mean any special place!

Because, forgive me, my haram idea is called sharing.

The biggest congregation of humanity shares it every year...It's called the Hajj...:)
Muslim's go on Hajj to worship Allah, it's not a holiday spot or a place for a vacation. why in blue hell would a non-muslim wanna go there when they don't belive in Islam?
we dont go there just for the crack u know, we go for spiritual reasons :P

Why would a Muslim visit Rome? If indeed any want to. Same idea grows.
Why should I let you see holy places? Do you think its God's decesion? Should I intimately share my holy places with you?
But be forewarned.
I don't think God wants his places barred from believers. Is only my opinion. But I just can't understand why HE would?
I tend to think of God as an accepting universal being.

AAG you're are'nt getting my point .. its not about sharing the holy places its about what you believe in .. we are divided into several religions and God for each religion is something different .. each God is seperate from the other one .. don't tell me you don't agree on this one .. its not the same God all across! So either you believe in Allah or you don't. If you do, then you gota live by His rules.

Thing is Wake up,
We worship God in different ways, but there is still only one God. All of ours. God is not seperate. God is one.
I guess if someone is dying to get close to Kabah then becoming Muslim is a very small price to pay.
Now, stop complaining.

But a lie that way. Wouldn't it be a lie? If the only reason to see would be:
I think so. And I myself would never compromise lying to believers to have a look.
Not in me to do so.
I couldn't do it.
Well..that is just to bad. :)
Your choice. This is the system.
Now..stop whining
Nope ! its not hajj , its sangam kumbh in allahabad, India. link

Likely I will never understand why God would decree that non muslims are barred from visiting those holy sites.
Why would God want some but not others to see?
How come God invites you to visit his house and not me?
Doesn't God like me?
Why would God require that I practise Islam before seeing his holy places? Wouldn't it be easier to learn to live Islam by example?
Do you think its because I would annoy God with all of my questions?
[/QUOTE]
Well I can see some problem with your thinking.( I hope you dont mind me pointing out).
Your thinking derives reasons from your background in christianity( which welcomes everyone to god's places and god ).You try to see all other religions with that frame in mind with a a few possible alterations. But you should try to think it from perspective of Islam or may be without any basic framework and start thinking about it from scracth.
I think afia describes it exactly -

as far as i understand it is........it is ordered in The Holy Quran.......n if you ask WHY???......well ........i'm a believer n my faith tells me that Allah is all knowing n i accept everything in His book without asking WHY...!!!

its all matter of faith. And religion is all about faith and resulting interpretations. So what you believe and derive faith has to be right for you. Thats the religion for you. Being a hindu , I have been to churchs and dargahs( holy shrines of muslim saints) many times. but its doesnt lessen my faith , rather increases faith in my beliefs and my personalized religion.
I hope you are getting my point. Now my opinion about about Islam is that , most of the islamic people have very deep faith in what is written in their holy book and they follow it strictly; I dont see any problem with that.
