"Why cant I enter?"

As I do. Always. Everywhere I look.

Since the fall of the Tibetan Empire, Mecca may be the only world-wide instance of an entire city being off-limits to non-Muslims, but it's not unusual for certain places of worship to be barred to people of other faiths. Many Mormon temples are off-limits to non-Mormons. Parsis don't allow non-Parsis into certain religious areas and buildings. Some Hindu temples require one be a Hindu to enter.

On the one hand, I understand it. You don't want goggling, photo-snapping tourists to come into a place that is very sacred to you.

On the other hand, it doesn't do much to impart understanding and tolerance.

The blonde person thing is just stupid. There are plenty of Afghanistani women, and some from the north-west of Pakistan, who are very fair. Imagine if they were denied the right to make the Haj!

A lot of Bosnians are blonde blue...they can go in just fine.

The place requires that men are circumsized (Muslims by default) and the woment are clean and not during that time of month.
For a non muslim to enter into Makkah or Medina would mean that you are allowing unclean people to enter the holy places where a Muslim should not even enter if he/she is unclean.
Ofcourse over the years the boundaries have been increased and some of it has to do with the fact that it is easier to have check points that are more away from the actual Khana Ka'aba rather than having it right outside it. Crowd management etc come into play.

And please dont reply that jews and most christians are curcumsized too ...I know that.

Makkah and Medinah is no "tourist attractions". Its places to worship Allah in a certain way also called Umrah and Hajj.
If anybody wants to go there its easy join the Islamic faith and its open for you and EVERYBODY is welcome to join Islam. Otherwise stay away there is a lot of tourists attractions elsewhere in the world.

I as a muslim have no problems if the Vatican or the Jewish wall in Jerusalem is closed for muslims. They have there religion and I have mine. It has nothing to do with any sort of discrimination.

So you don't agree with those in Islam that made it a habit to destroy Hindu temples? You'd condemn them?

Likely I will never understand why God would decree that non muslims are barred from visiting those holy sites.

Why would God want some but not others to see?
once you get to visit it...the next thing you will ask is that i want to see you God..greed is in human nature! :~)

me no scholar but one of the reasons why they are not allowed could be
what somebody already mentioned relating to the security concerns...

it is suppose to be the highest form of prayer/worship a muslim can get to perform. a divine way to get further close to Allah. every yr. millions of muslims gather in that holy place in order to perform the holy hajj(worship). the place literally gets realllyy crowded. muslims go there
with an intention to pray and to get closer to God. i am sure if it is opened for tourism, then the ppl who go there for worship won't be able to achieve what they came there for. i am sure you understand what i am getting at. last but not the least i guess its not something for display.

Why would God require that I practise Islam before seeing his holy places?
one cannot feel the presence of god by looking at some fancy building
(which is precisely what it is for non-muslims) the presence of God is suppose to be felt from the bottom of ur heart & soul. its all in ur mind...and not eyes ;~)

i am sure if the churches or other holy places start getting crowded
in the manner mecca does; they might need to take some measures to
restrict non-worshippers from entering.

Wouldn't it be easier to learn to live Islam by example?

your are not testing god..its the other way around. and this is no game
that one would want to win or lose. its about feeling right. :~)

Do you think its because I would annoy God with all of my questions?

that perhaps is for Him to know and you to find out :~)

A friend of mine got upset when I told him that he would not be allowed to enter the sanctuary of the Kaaba. Does this go for all of Mecca or just where pilgrims enter to perform Hajj? Why was this done? Is it justified?
My friend went on to say that he would declare shahadah just to get in, eventhough he is non-muslim. I've never been so I dont know what its like there. Thanks.
why would he wana enter? its not a public park .. ppl go there for worship not site seeing .. he can watch it on tv if he wants to ..and since its for the muslims they have the right to not let non-muslimsenter .. as simple as that.

I still don't get it.

Why would God bar people from his places? Why wouldn't he want them there? Crowded or not?

What about the off-season?

I doubt I will ever understand why its impossible to invite a christian to the Kaaba.

By doing so you alienate people who would glady bring you to shrines.

So...Muslims should be barred from seeing and experiencing the art of the Vatican? Should you be barred from seeing the Sistine Chapal?

Barr you from ever entering St. Peters? Excommuniticate you from ever seeing the Shroud of Turin? Even if you don't believe.

Should I not welcome you to my church? Should I say that you are unwelcome?

Is that right?

You may not come here? I'm not able to do that. I couldn't ever.

Because you are Musliim you are not allowed in my CHURCH???

I can't fathom that within myself. I wan't people to know that God doesn't discrimate.

You're most welcome to visit a masjid. Apparently just not the one in Makkah.

Another question relating to this. Lets say you have a Christian wife and you are a muslim man. You want to take your children to Hajj. Does the wife come along or can she not enter?

so there is a gatekeeper between god and human? so human
have the power to sheild god from beliver and non-belivers and curiuous.

as far as i understand it is........it is ordered in The Holy Quran.......n if you ask WHY???......well ........i'm a believer n my faith tells me that Allah is all knowing n i accept everything in His book without asking WHY...!!!

Allah's house - HARAM - as the word implies is something where everything unaacceptable is prohibited. Whether it be the people or any action.

Why would Allah want to cater for those who don't believe in Him? If they are so keen to go inside why don't they make some effort and become a part of the people who are His followers.

Why would a non-muslim wana go inside it? Whats the point!! They don't even believe in Allah and they still want to go in.. thats so strange .. for them it shouldnt even mean any special place!

Why would a Muslim visit Rome? If indeed any want to. Same idea grows.

Why should I let you see holy places? Do you think its God's decesion? Should I intimately share my holy places with you?

But be forewarned.

I don't think God wants his places barred from believers. Is only my opinion. But I just can't understand why HE would?

I tend to think of God as an accepting universal being.
