It's a little known fact that we can. Just run off a cliff, with a life insurance policy sans the suicide clause, and try to miss the ground. The missing part is tricky.

we do not need wings but if we had bunch of loose skin between our arms and side of our body, that would give us enough surface area for the air to support our body and let us glide.

We can't fly so we get to ponder upon the act/phenomena of flying and have desire to fly, then finding a solution in airplanes.
