Foreign currency is very important as without it the rupee would be in freefall and prices of everything would shoot up.
Bestway Cement, UBL Bank (after privatisation) come to my mind although there would be more no doubt.
Even if expatriates spend money on cars and houses still means that they are contributing to the economy of Pakistan, for example a car needs fuel, servicing, maintenance, insurance. Also half the real estate schemes in Pakistan would not even get off the ground without the support of expatriates.
