LATEST SABRE planes:eek: …and the indians were using the sopwith camels right??
Truth is India had far better equipment than the PAF but the PAF had better leadership and a good warplan. It should be added that some IAF squadorns were patrolling the chinease border waiting for an attack that never materialized.
The pakistani attack by first armoured division came to grief and most of the pattons were abandoned, similarly the indian armoured thrusts were blunted by stubborn pakistani defence. In short the south asians are not great tank generals and the infantry and airstrikes were lethel against armor.
somebody mentioned that the PAF was scared of the Gnat there might be some truth in it as the Gnat pilots had the highest number of kills in the IAF in 1965,but they fail to mention that they had a field day against the hunters and mystairs.
The Folland Gnat was a small plane hard to spot, very manouverable and carried 30mm cannons which were lethel even in short bursts.F-86 carried 0.5 cal MG
