Why Brides Look Prettier On Their Walima Than The Actuall Wedding Day

Re: Why Brides Look Prettier On Their Walima Than The Actuall Wedding Day

wow that picture is terrible i don’t think i have seen any desi bride looking THAT bad

Re: Why Brides Look Prettier On Their Walima Than The Actuall Wedding Day

I always think that too! It's the makeup! they just look bad with all that dark heavy makeup. The valima look is more fresh looking.

And whyyyyy do desi girls who never ever wear red listick in their life b/c they know it doesn't look good on them decide to wear it on their wedding?!? horrible!

Re: Why Brides Look Prettier On Their Walima Than The Actuall Wedding Day

I don't buy the make-up excuse. The truth is that they r worrying about going leaving their family, going to a strangers house and furthermore, doing the deed.

By valima time, they have gotten over leaving their family bcos they r happy in their new home and they are no longer like strangers, and of course, the deed is done so they don't need to stress over it anymore.

HAHAHA omg thats so scary. i think its the color red most brides tend to wear thinking they “must” wear it whether or not it looks good on them for traditional purposes. on the valima the bride is definitly more fresh, relaxed and wears lighter colors with lighter makeup which makes her look prettier.

Re: Why Brides Look Prettier On Their Walima Than The Actuall Wedding Day

who said the deed needs to be done on the first night....some couples leave it to the 2nd 3rd night when they are not so tired and more relaxed

Re: Why Brides Look Prettier On Their Walima Than The Actuall Wedding Day

^ I have never been a believer in the deed HAS to be done on the wedding night. Yeah, some people may have the valima the very next day, others may wait a week or whatever. Traditionally many people believe that the valima is a feast given after the wedding has been consummated, then there are others who disagree.

Swings and roundabouts...

well although i heard if u do deed at yr wedding night it is a sunnat but if u dont do there will be no effect on your valima.

Re: Why Brides Look Prettier On Their Walima Than The Actuall Wedding Day

LOL sara, it took me like 2 minutes to get that. that was the last thing on my mind..but now that i think of it, shouldn't the bride look WORSE on the valima day then? from all the pain?! lol

Re: Why Brides Look Prettier On Their Walima Than The Actuall Wedding Day

about that comment..many or most people dont do anything the day before the valima..so that takes away that possibility in a lto fo cases?

Re: Why Brides Look Prettier On Their Walima Than The Actuall Wedding Day

I was really stressed on the wedding--the whole entire day--even called my MUA to come home instead of meeting at the hotel. So many thoughts were going through my head---Number 1--im leaving my family 2. I have to sit on the stage and have so many ppl stare at me. and yes the whole family was stressed with the preparations that day--hurry up and do this and that. On the Valima I was much more relaxed because I had already sat infront of all those ppl, already had the ruksati and cried--plus I was eager to see my family!!

Re: Why Brides Look Prettier On Their Walima Than The Actuall Wedding Day

I think the wedding day is the day of the unknowns. Whats your hubby like really? How does one act like a married person..How does one act in front of in laws...what should I do if I am hungry. Do these people really like me? Will hubby find me pretty? How do one act normal knowing whats potentially going to happen tonight..did I wax properly and enough??

The next day...is the day of revelations. Now you you the answers to a lot of stuff and its a relief. You have met your hubby in an intimate way (even if you dont go all the way!) and things arent as bad as you were worried they might be.

And I know couples who didnt do it for weeks. One friend related how her friend had told her horror stories of being torn and needing stitches after the wedding night (that must have been REALLY embarassing!) so when she saw her hubbys member, she feared the same was going to happen to her. It took her a month of gentle 'practice' to finally get to the deed!!
